Originally, Ford had said in 2021 that it would start production in 2025.
Full production at a Ford EV factory in west Tennessee that was to deliver the company’s F150 Lightning electric pickup truck is being delayed.
State Sen. Page Walley, a Republican, told the "Tennessee Outlook" full production of the vehicle line was being pushed back by nine months as a result of a “read on the economy.”
Ford said in 2021 that it would start production in 2025. Now the electric pickup trucks aren’t expected to be delivered to dealerships until 2026, according to the "Outlook."
Ford lost $132,000 on each electric vehicle it sold in the first quarter of this year, and according to reports, the company cut orders from its battery suppliers as production plans are scaled back.
I have no sympathy for the auto industry. They did this to themselves by allowing government to direct them. Obama telling GM who to install as CEO was the definition of socialism. Next stop, communism.
That radical idea would be so ....... American!
Technically, I think that is fascism. Socialism would be the government taking over the company and running it.
Government central planners controlling producers is socialism, government owning means of production is communism.
“That’s a crappy looking Mustang. Shame, shame”
Yeah, Fords attempt to juice sales by slapping the Mustang name on a EV SUV. Rather sad and pathetic.
We have an escape plug in hybrid getting 100mpg lifetime and love it. Close to 15,000 miles on it now. Mostly charge with our own solar. Sometimes at a campground we plug it in, as we tow it with the motorhome.
They really should - but I suspect that the way a number of manufacturers are grouping vehicles into "families" has some fedgov / fuel economy angle. The Bronco is offset by the "greener" Bronco Sport and Maverick, the Mustang is balanced out with the Mach E. There are rumors that GM is about to do the same with the Camaro nameplate.
Yes, it is sad and pathetic.
Chevy had better not try such shenanigans with the Corvette.
Let’s be honest several automakers are doing a really good job of destroying themselves. Stalantis comes to mind
Socialists have learned that taking over the company causes a problem when it fails and they’re the ones in charge. By installing their own Toadies in the private company and regulating it to death they can blame the private sector for the failure.
