They (auto makers) are stuck in the middle. Government - Do what we want or else we end you Consumer - Build what we want or we will buy it from someone else and end you. they can’t win.

I have no sympathy for the auto industry. They did this to themselves by allowing government to direct them. Obama telling GM who to install as CEO was the definition of socialism. Next stop, communism.
