The study might have neglected the difference between the average urban dweller and the average non-urban dweller.
They combined EVs and hybrids into the same category. I wonder what the numbers look like for them separately.

I can’t speak for others here, but in our part of Central Texas, there are a couple of groups who drive EVs. One for the basic, smaller vehicles, and one for the Teslas. Conservative white folks comprise neither. Just saying.
No one needs an assault vehicle!!!
EV’s accelerate like crazy, and drivers take full advantage of that. Unfortunately, they don’t always account for pedestrians. Grand Theft Auto mentality, only there’s no “Play Again?” button in the real world.
The “green movement” is anti-human, at so many levels.

I almost got hit over there because the driver drove on the wrong side of the road. I think they were trying to kill me because pretty soon they were ALL driving on the wrong side of the road. I left and never went back.
Yes, it’s how quiet they are. People haven’t yet had time to adapt. With ICE vehicles we’ve been conditioned to see AND hear them. We associate certain vehicles with certain noises. I knew a blind lady for a long time and one of their blind advocate organizations have been working for years to institute rules to make electric cars have some kind of noise.
People that don’t pay attention and quiet cars are a bad mix. My car, IC, is very quiet. At least once a week I encounter somebody walking down the middle of the parking lot with no clue that I should run them over.
As I said in the last EV thread, EV owners are also just twice as likely to be stupid.

EV’s are heavier and cannot stop as quick. Simple laws of physics. There are going to be more accidents in cases involving the need for very quick stops.
