The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has found that pedestrians are twice as likely to be hit by an electric or hybrid car than by a gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicle.
The scientists have hypothesized that the relatively quiet operations of an electric vehicle as well as high pedestrian density in noisy urban areas could be major reasons.
The study uncovered a pedestrian casualty rate of 5.16 per 100 million miles driven for electric and hybrid vehicles, more than double the 2.4 per 100 million miles recorded for traditional gasoline-powered cars.

People that don’t pay attention and quiet cars are a bad mix. My car, IC, is very quiet. At least once a week I encounter somebody walking down the middle of the parking lot with no clue that I should run them over.

They probably hit a higher percentage of minorities, too, which by liberal,logic means they are racist and must be banned.
EV’s are heavier and cannot stop as quick. Simple laws of physics. There are going to be more accidents in cases involving the need for very quick stops.
One upside. Everything will be coordinated, including pedestrian crossings. After a few jaywalkers prove a Darwin postulate, it should self police itself, save for the crazies, drug added, and fleeing criminals saving the taxpayers a few bucks. They might even be able to take the law off the books.
