Kaiser Permanente is America’s oldest HMO and largest healthcare provider. It’s a superb institution but is suffering the consequences of embracing the leftist COVID narrative. As a sign of its retreat from its COVID dead-end, it’s now trying to get its unvaccinated doctors back into the fold.
For 33 years, I’ve been a completely satisfied Kaiser patient.* I’ve never received anything but good care from the people who work there, whether doctors, nurses, physical therapists, receptionists, pharmacists, or anyone else. I also think it’s a fantastic model of how medical care can be done well and affordably.
Kaiser is named after the industrialist Henry J. Kaiser, who founded it in 1945 after over a decade of providing low-cost healthcare to workers and their families. What made Kaiser’s treatment centers different was that they didn’t focus on treating only existing illnesses and injuries. Instead, the minds behind it figured out that a healthy workforce was a productive workforce, so Kaiser facilities emphasized preventative medicine.
From that single corporate beginning, Kaiser has grown into America’s largest Health Maintenance Organization, with offices across the West, Hawaii, and the Southeast.

during COVID, Kaiser was at the front of the line—proudly so—for vaccination. That meant that when state and local governments demanded vaccinations for physicians, and when Joe Biden issued an executive order mandating vaccinations for healthcare workers in facilities receiving federal reimbursement (that means all of them), Kaiser meekly went along with the mandates.
Kaiser did so despite being the largest healthcare provider in America, which means that it has an enormous voice in the medical field. That’s why, in 2021, Kaiser fired all physicians who refused vaccinations and didn’t qualify for exemptions.
Now, though, those mandates are gone, and Kaiser is facing a reckoning in the form of a physician shortage.

🚨 Breaking:
Kaiser Permanente is begging doctors they fired over the COVID shot to crawl back to the HMO & reapply:
KAISER PERMANENTE•
May 17, 2024
Dr. Owen Johnston,
We are writing to let you know that there has been a change in the Kaiser Permanente COVID-19 Vaccination for KP Workforce Members Policy ("Vaccine Policy") that may impact you. As you may recall, the federal government and various state and local entities required COVID-19 vaccinations for, among others, healthcare workers during the pandemic.
Consistent with the government-mandated COVID-19 vaccine laws, and as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of Kaiser Permanente members, patients, and employees, many of whom were at high-risk from COVID-19, in 2021 Kaiser Permanente implemented a Vaccine Policy. The Vaccine Policy required, as a condition of employment, that employees must either submit proof that they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including any applicable boosters), or receive an approved exemption, by the specified timeline.
Due to changes in the federal, state and local vaccine requirements or recommendations, among other reasons, the Vaccine Policy has been revised effective February 1, 2024. Specifically, vaccination against COVID-19 is no longer required as a condition of employment. While COVID-19 vaccination will not be a requirement of working at Kaiser Permanente, employees will be required to annually verify their COVID-19 vaccination status.
We understand that your employment may have ended at Kaiser Permanente because of your non-compliance with the Vaccine Policy. Given the revision to the Vaccine Policy, we wanted to inform you that you are eligible for rehire with Kaiser Permanente for open and available positions for which you are qualified if you chose to reapply (unless you are ineligible for rehire for other reasons unrelated to the non-compliance with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate). You may search for open and available positions here:

We appreciate your prior service to Kaiser Permanente and its members and patients, and we encourage you to apply for open positions.
Sincerely Yours,
Kaiser Permanente

All HMO’s are guilty.
🔝🔝🔝
😀😀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Once burned, twice shy. I could probably forgive for a $200,000 bonus.
If I was one of their docs, I would get a contract written up by an attorney securing work for at least 10 years with triple back pay and immunity from any covid type mandates.
And when the next flu scare comes along and the have urine pooling at their feet what’s to stop them from doing a replete?
“It’s a superb institution”
Lost me right there.
Kaiser is the bottom of the barrel.
I almost always know more about my condition and the medicine around it than my doc.
My doc is gay, fat, and a dunce. He mixed up my left and right shoulder, for example, when attempting to treat it.
Kaiser took over Group Health in WA, formerly known as “Group Death”.
Employees are consistently skill free DEI hires.
The list goes on and on.
And next month they’ll want to force them to be vaccinated.
No
From any and all mrna/gene therapy as well as any/all conventional vaccine mandates
“All HMO’s are guilty.”
No kidding. I asked my GP in fall 2020 what he thought of the Paul Marek (East Virginia Medical School) protocol. He said “follow the CDC recommendations.” He either wasn’t curious about COVID and sound antiviral approaches or the entire HMO fell in line with CDC / FDA and told their doctors to tell patients nothing but “Follow CDC.” It was pathetic.
Have had no less than 4 primary doctors...because they all quit and go on somewhere else?
Last Fall I had prostate surgery...the laser method. Only one surgeon in the entire D.C. Region performed the procedure and when I saw him for the first time the morning of the surgery...he looked like Doogie Houser's younger brother!!
He was excellent! Everyone from the first person who signed me in at the desk was superb.
Only person who pissed me off was the anesthesiologist who 'lied' to me that she wouldn't put the tube down my throat into my lungs.
Overall, was so satisfied, during the follow-up appointment with the surgeon I teased him that he could use me in a TV commercial for Kaiser!
If you like your current doctors you can keep your current doctor.
Why go back? It’s not like I’d trust them ever again.
Why? They’ve already done their part to help the others destroy healthcare in this country. Yeah, I’m looking at you Obama.
How passive/aggressive of them!
*We understand that your employment may have ended at Kaiser Permanente because of your non-compliance with the Vaccine Policy.*
And blame shifting to boot.
What really happened was *We know we fired you because you didn’t cave to our vaccine policy demands.*
My parents are with Kaiser, part of their retirement.
My father began coughing incessantly about 6 months ago.
2 months ago Kaiser replaced his CPAP machine without explanation.
2 weeks ago, my mother caught one of those ambulance chasing commercials about the Philips defects and recalls. I knew nothing about all of this until talking to my mother on Mother’s Day.
He has more doctor appointments about his lungs next week...with Kaiser. Previous appointments have been inconclusive and rather uninformative.
Needless to say, I’m now fishing for a good attorney.
A Drop in the bottomless bucket.
A planned / needed kick in the economies zoomy-zoom-zoom inflation. Prices only ever go up.
It will be Stagflation by summer.
