That is what bears do when they are hungry. They can’t go to Mc Donald’s and order a Big Mac with fries and coke.

In my ponds, it’s the catfish small ducks need to look for. Just about every one gets eaten.

Story reminds me of this:
“The game laws say nothing whatever about the actions of animals,” he said. “Animals are thoroughly reliable. They do exactly what is required of them and they never think of doing anything else. Their conduct does have to be regulated. The lion will not kill unless he is hungry, and then he will most certainly kill. He does not kill to expand his personality or to gloss over flaws (true or imaginary) with which he cannot live. He kills because he personally needs to eat.” “Man,” he said, does not behave as his Creator intended him to. Therefore laws have to be laid down to govern his behavior.” Leonard Wibberley, “Meeting With a Great Beast”.

We took our Cub Scout Pack to the San Antonio Zoo years ago and a squirrel fell into the tiger area and we got to see the tiger chase, kill, and eat the squirrel. Circle of Life moment...

Show the kids of families at the dinner table, eating chickens and cows and pigs. Will they be as horrified? It’s the way of nature, though people dress up the act of eating animals as something different. It’s just PETA, people eating tasty animals. BETA is bears eating tasty animals. ;)

"While ducklings might seem like small prey for a brown bear — which can weigh over 1,0000 pounds — the omnivorous critters are highly opportunistic when it comes to feeding." Darn big bear.
