What is really sad here is that the government officials need to be above reproach as they have “qualified immunity”. Where there is questionable doubt it should be in favor of the accused, not the immune government official.

The second separate issue, if the phone records are credible, could be whether she lied to the judge regarding the first issue.
She certainly isn't "a regular witness", the relationship she lied about was at the core "of the matter at hand", and she is well-versed in both the law and the particulars of a court proceeding.
