Former Runaways front-woman Cheri Currie has denounced the Democrat Party in a lengthy rant on X, admitting she had fallen for their “lies.”
Best known as the lead vocalist for the 1970s teenage punk band, Currie embodied the anti-establishment mentality of that era, and had voted Democrat, until now.
Currie told her followers:
“It used to be PUNK, R&R to vote Democrat. I fell for it.”
Currie, who had previously advocated for the wearing of face masks in 2020, seems to have woken up to the reality that freedoms are being ripped away from Americans on a daily basis.
Curries continued:
“But when your party demands you live in fear, [squalor], beyond your means by just buying groceries, gasoline, disrespecting our veterans, our police, our elderly, supporting CRIMINALS, chaos, riots, Hamas, FAILING Israel, demeaning us at every turn!”
Currie then doubled down, writing:
“HURTING our CHILDREN! Wasting OUR MONEY. Ineptitude with every policy! Lies and more lies.. NO MORE! The Democrat Party can KISS MY A**. They don’t give a damn. That’s true.”
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that things have become much worse for the average American since Joe Biden took office.
Currie’s rant is reflective of what most Americans are feeling.
She concluded:
“Voting Dem used to be cool. But now, it just makes you a FOOL.”
Currie’s post received positive responses.
One user commented:
“Punk to me was always anti-government and ‘the man’ democrats were always about more government. That hypocritical dichotomy always bothered me.”
Another wrote:
“Voting D used to mean that you are a free spirit. Now Democrats are the party of control.”
Supporting leftist ideology used to be “cool” because it was seen as anti-establishment.
However, in 2024, the complete opposite is true. Voting for Democrats makes you a freedom-hating, communist-loving tyrant.
I thought I remember Lita saying that Lita was the only straight member of the band.
I would often get Joan Jett mixed up with Pat Benatar, still do. I’ll hear the song of one and think the other lady must have sang it.

Only due to their similarity in appearance/style of dress and makeup. Benatar can sing opera (and has done so). Joan just screams, which is fine for a punk record. Benatar is famous for her breathwork, range and control. Just the beginning “woah-ah-woah-ah-woah-ah-whoooooooaaaaaa” opening from “Love is a Battlefield” is extremely difficult to accomplish, and Benatar made it sound easy.

lol...that’s a pretty good list. The D’s are the party of misery, chaos, and anguish...encouraging death with every policy.
Glad to hear this, but it still hasn‘t filtered down to my former circle of grunge music scene friends (many of whom would totally fanboy out over the Runaways). I still can’t talk to any of them and cannot relate any more. They refuse to put 2+2 together.

Listen to the last chorus of it. You can hear the opera like structures of the women’s chants. It builds and recceeds and repeats with great precision.

As you probably know, Johnny lost his wife Nora Forster just last year to the effects of dementia. She had early onset, but he stayed with her, by Nora’s side to the very end.
Johnny’s a good guy. He also called out Jimmy Savile when nobody else would.

* 7. By specious argument cause the breakdown of the old moral virtues, honesty and sobriety.
C. Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext with a view to confiscating them and leaving the population helpless.
