Explanation: Almost every object in the featured photograph is a galaxy. The Coma Cluster of Galaxies pictured here is one of the densest clusters known - it contains thousands of galaxies. Each of these galaxies houses billions of stars - just as our own Milky Way Galaxy does. Although nearby when compared to most other clusters, light from the Coma Cluster still takes hundreds of millions of years to reach us. In fact, the Coma Cluster is so big it takes light millions of years just to go from one side to the other. Most galaxies in Coma and other clusters are ellipticals, while most galaxies outside of clusters are spirals. The nature of Coma's X-ray emission is still being investigated.

Great occultation sequence!
I seldom scan the sky anymore with binoculars, let alone my telescope, but for those of you looking for low investment-high enjoyment astronomy, finding dense clusters or stars or galaxies is thrilling. It’s like finding a treasure on the beach or an arrowhead - you never get tired of thousands of stars coming into view all of a sudden, especially in an open cluster, (or galaxies at higher powers).
I’m not good at seeking Messier objects, but just cruising Scorpius and Sagittarius just for starters, at random is a blast. You don’t need a telescope to appreciate His creation.

Quite Possibly TRUE.
My theory: Since EACH individual has an IMMORTAL SOUL.. which in essence means "we're ALWAYS going to be".. these "galaxies" may be some of the BILLIONS of alternate REALITIES that exist, one of which, yours, mine, and everyone else's SOUL travels to, after our death.
I'm NOT saying it's TRUE... only that it is a strong and OBVIOUS POSSIBILITY. At this point.. NO ONE, but God, knows for sure "What's NEXT?"

Incredible picture! When you first look at it, its almost like standing in a snowstorm looking at approaching car headlights, except that the “fat snowflakes” are actually galaxies! Then you start to look at the individual galaxies and try to take in the size, but there is actually no way to comprehend the scale of this, and we would not even be aware of it without our viewing technolgies, cameras and computers.
