...The stone relief, which depicts a prancing horse, was located near the mouth of the Akragas River off the coast of San Leone—a town on the southern coast of Sicily.... One of Italy's 20 regions, the island is located just off the "toe" of the country's "boot."
Sicily was first settled by ancient Greek colonists in the 8th century B.C., although the island was eventually conquered by the Romans in the 3rd century B.C...
While more research needs to be conducted to uncover the true nature of the find, experts believe it may have been designed as decoration for the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Agrigento—a hilltop city in Sicily located slightly inland from San Leone...
Agrigento is known for the ruins of the Akragas, an ancient city that was founded in the 6th century B.C. by Greek colonists. Akragas was an important city of Magna Graecia—a name the Romans used to refer to the coastal areas of southern Italy that were inhabited by Greek speakers. The settlement was nicknamed "the most beautiful city of mortals" by the ancient Greek poet Pindar.
Akragas is renowned for the Valley of the Temples archaeological site, which contains well-preserved ancient Greek temples. These include the Temple of Olympian Zeus—the largest temple ever constructed in the Doric architectural style, although it was never fully completed and now lies in ruins...
The recently recovered artifact, which lay at a depth of around 30 feet in a spot located almost 1,000 feet from the coast, was known about for several years, but had been dismissed in previous archaeological surveys as a "tub" or "basin" of no significance. Low visibility in the water had obscured its true form.

Olympian Zeus would refer to Mount Olympus, not Olympia. There was a temple of Olympian Zeus at Athens (begun in the 6th century BC, not completed until the second century AD). Some columns are still standing.
The real question is, is there any truth to the origin of such beasts? As ridiculous as it sounds there is a possible link to these stories and ancient texts telling of such cross breedings. We are unable to do such because of chromosome inequality and lack of technology. But the Books of Enoch, Giants and Jasher claims this was the real reason for the Flood of Noah. The gene pool was being tainted. Fallen angels left their first domain and changed their bodies somehow to mate with humans. The progeny were the Nephalim. They didn’t stop there though and began experiments on different species of animals. Were there Minotaurs or was Pegasus real? Who knows. Maybe this was the knowledge that was to be sealed up unto the end of time. I’ve stayed away from the Apocrypha until recently and have no belief either away on it.

but it is fun to accuse so-called satanists of beastiality. After all, their followers were required to kiss the hinder part of the devil.

No doubt some (many?) are guilty.
Yeah, it is. There are only just so many archaeologists, and they have to evaluate the best use of their time. And oh, boo hoo, they only do field work in difficult places when they can get a grant. Grow up.
That is rated VERY highly. What is your opinion on it?
Too bad there aren’t more top people making movies now. :^)
I've ordered his follow-up, Reversing Harmon, but I haven't started it yet.

Reading is a useful skill often acquired in childhood. Pays to use this skill carefully. See quote from the article:
“experts believe it may have been designed as decoration for the Temple of Olympian Zeus in Agrigento—a hilltop city in Sicily”
Thus nothing to do with a temple in Athens, and everything to do with Sicily, where it was found.
how about a natural history museum.
