Apple’s much-heralded Vision Pro has left a segment of buyers disappointed after they discovered that the high-priced device will not play any VR porn.
The Vision Pro prevents users from accessing the immersive explicit content, leading one frustrated user to dub it a “$3,500 chastity belt.”
An entire Reddit thread has already sprouted on the social media site and is dedicated to trying to skirt around the Vision Pro’s X-rated guardrails, according to 404 Media.
“I am sure someone will eventually come out with an app that allows that, none are available at launch, and you can’t use the native web browser to access sites either,” the person wrote on Reddit.
The same user who gave the virtual reality headset the nickname declared that “you can’t play NSFW [not safe for work] VR on Apple’s new product yet.”

“Steve Jobs came under a lot of criticism for denying access to porn on Apple products”
How would/could he censor the porn?
“The VCR, the Internet, AI....all became mainstream technology advances thank to porn.’
Magazines became mainstream technology advances thanks to porn.
Hahahahaha...”Hey! All the good parts are gone!”
That was a creepy movie, for sure!
The Apple Vision Pro has sensors positioned in the bottom of the goggles to watch and keep track of your hands, even if they're in your lap.
Ahem.
“sex always has been the main driving force in the life cycle of humans”
SEX is a distant third behind food and shelter
I did not know that!
I do remember the “What kind of wood doesn’t float” thing...
Sorry the order is beer, sex and food.
LOL!
I don't know quite why I find this subject so hilarious...perhaps because it highlights both the silly and seamy side of humanity at the same time!
Or maybe it just brings out the 11 year old boy in me...along with fart jokes and such...
If it won’t do porn it will never be successful.
“Sorry the order is beer, sex and food.”
Beer is food.
No kidding! I can just imagine some guy working for a company trying like hell to make that work at night after everyone has gone home!
I remember that movie - Natalie Wood’s last, IIRC. Not bad for early ‘80s sci-fi. Plus, it had Christopher Walken.
I saw some videos and photos of people driving and typing on an imaginary keyboard so I guess they will be using their ah.... imagination.
I may have to watch it again sometime...for nostalgia’s sake! I completely forgot it had Christopher Walken in it!
He sure does play some odd parts...:)
No, the article makes it clear that you can visit whatever website you want.
The "issue" is that the current version of Safari on Apple's Vision OS won't take "180-degree side-by-side" video - which has different channels for the left and right eye - and play it back with just the left channel going to the left eye, and the right channel going to the right eye.
Instead it shows a single flat video window with the right and left channels shown in each respective half of the window.
This 180-degree SBS style of filming is how most commercial VR videos are made - from YouTube to YouPorn.
No NSFW content, eh? I’ll bet it won’t let me run an app that provides a range solution and ballistic calculation for any object in view, either. < evil grin >
Well, that’s a good think in my book. Go after the real deal, not some VR broad. |
VR broads don't give you syphillis.
We watched it for a once in awhile clearer image.
