“...some of the molecules that cannot fit [on the surface] retreat into the depths of the liquid”

Damn whiskey snowflake molecules, always running to their safe spaces. Snowflakes everywhere.

On the rocks... water dilution of the whiskey is dependent upon thirst of the drinker.

There is no health or metabolic benefit to drinking alcohol in any form.

I add well filtered ice to the shaker and stir.

2/3rds Buffalo Trace Bourbon
1/3rd Amaro (5+ choices depending on my mood)
Strong dashes of Angostura Bitters
Strain into a coupe holding Amarena Cherries (2)

All else is happenstance.

It is a good thing I do not like taste of whiskey, rum, gin, beer or most wines. Once in a while I will mix a shot of Amaretto with half and half for dessert, may be once in a month, it is delicious. Only other alcoholic drink I can tolerate is small amounts of good quality aged port wine.

A few drops of water will open good bourbon up nicely.

Richard Patterson says a drop or two of water is okay….it’s okay. Also been to a few distilleries in Scotland and they added a few drops right from the stream.

“Branch water”, originally sold by the distiller, was from the same stream (branch) from which the whiskey was made. Purists thought that complemented the whiskey.

Or sugar in your tea?
What’s all these crazy questions you’re asking me?

Have you ever seen a Communist drink tap water?
Fluoridated water is a Communist conspiracy to rob us of our precious bodily fluids.
I only drink whiskey and rain water.
I deny women my essence.

I’m pretty convinced that alcohol reduced the number of instances of food poisoning when I was China.

Sherry-casked Bowmore used to be one of my favorites and as a contrast to my other former favorite, Laphroaig.

See, ... this is why Temperance Unionists never get invited to parties.

I drank cask strength Elijah Craig at 134 proof with no water added.

Sheer poetry on the tongue and down the throat.

There was for several thousands of years due to water not being safe to drink.

Safe, drinkable water is a modern marvel of the twentieth century.
