A recent study conducted by scientists at the University of Surrey suggests that climate change could be linked to increased prevalence of the common diarrhea illness campylobacteriosis in humans, as reported in MedicalXpress.
Campylobacteriosis is caused by bacteria from the Campylobacter genus, with the species C. jejuni and C. coli posing a significant risk to human health.
Transmission of Campylobacteriosis
The research focused on investigating the impact of elevated temperatures, longer days, and increased humidity - consequences of ongoing climate change - on the transmission of campylobacteriosis. The study's findings indicate a notable association between the warming planet and the incidence of this bacterial infection.
Dr. Giovanni Lo Iacono, Senior Lecturer in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Surrey, led the study. He emphasized the importance of understanding the environmental factors influencing the spread of diseases and highlighted the potential societal impacts of illnesses like campylobacteriosis.
Dr. Lo Iacono expressed that gaining insights into why weather conditions contribute to disease spread is a complex matter but crucial for predicting and managing outbreaks.
"We now have a detailed description of how the weather affects the disease, and the next step is to understand the why. Importantly, through our transparent and conceptually simple approach, we can now tell the risk of getting the disease when we know the recent local weather," Lo Iacono said in a statement.
The study involved analyzing data from approximately 1 million cases of campylobacteriosis in England and Wales over a 20-year period. A mathematical model was developed to compare this data with weather parameters provided by the Met Office.

Climate change gave me the crabs.
Has senile old Biden had another unfortunate release of bowel content in front of people....again? They’re looking for something to blame? May as well be climate change.
Nothing. It’s the cause of every human ill, since time immemorial. It is the cause of the collapse of all human systems, from economics, infrastructure, low birth rates, war, shortages, balding, low testosterone, everything. (It’s as if we never suffered any of those in ancient times...)
Be afraid!
“climate change is also responsible for the precipitous drop in human IQ’ s.”
You nailed it!!
Causes cholera, mange, dropsy, the clap, hard pad and athlete’s head.
1,000,000 cases divided by 20 years = 50,000 cases per year.
Lets divide by 50 states and we're talking about 1,000 cases per year per state.
Them you have to match each case to climate conditions.
The study is phony....but I'm sure they got paid plenty.
Climate Change - Is there anything it can’t do?

Exactly my thought. If the Democrats need a crisis, they can put their hand into the grab bag and pick something ominous out.
invest in Pepto Bismol...................................
Don’t forget founder, river blindness, and radioactive poisoning.
A Snopes article is most amusing, as the "false" image is "debunked" while the "original" is said to be "Image not found This image is no longer available for use."
Enjoy the irony....
It must have been climate change. Depends....
I guess Montezuma must be very, very patient.
Sheet...the Biden’s have caused that!!!!
There was a lot of diarrhea coming out of Davos this week. I see the correlation.
Is there anYthing climate change can’t t do?
Poor hygiene and hand washing habits among illegals and other 3rd worlders preparing and handling your food are far more of a reason for diarrhea than the climate.
Swiftboat Rear Admiral John F’ing Kerry has been chief climate czar spokesman for the USA had to resign. Some people felt that he triple charged American Taxpayers to use his wife private jet. Once he got his wife’s jet paid for he resigned some people say.Maybe all of his diarrhea made the jet smell so bad he had to quit.
Or maybe Climate Change has the uncanny ability to make us stop washing our hands before eating. Who knew.
Also, the Minnesota Dept of Health is failing to hop on the Climate Change Diarrhea Bandwagon. They need to up their game:
“What is the cause of campylobacteriosis?
“Transmission. Infections are often associated with international travel, undercooked poultry, unpasteurized milk, untreated water, and contact with farm animals. Eating undercooked chicken or other food that has been contaminated with juices dripping from raw chicken is the most frequent source of this infection. Oct 24, 2023
No $hit?
I’m waiting for them to try the Giant Incoming Asteroid.
(They’ve seemed to try floating the Extraterrestrial Alien Threat; but we don’t seem to be buying that.)
