Would result in a lot less injuries if the two team owners simply agreed to toss a coin to determine the winner!!! But then again, there must be another motive for continuing the madness?
Kinda tough to use one in the stands. IIRC thats where the majority of the help is required.
Caller on an “urban” talk show complaining about how nobody was shoveling/plowing the way from the post office to her house so she could get her food stamps delivered.
Granted, this was a while ago, but I can’t imagine things have improved.

With snow this deep, though, it could be 2-0, the lowest possible score in a football game with any score at all. Never seen one of those!

I think $20/hr has been the pay for some time. They get it done...also get bragging rights about clearing the stadium.

I was actually in Shea Stadium watching the Jets beat up on the Tampa Bay Bucs in 8 inches of snow and everybody was waiting for a score of that game because it was important- this was 1982 and no cell phones/ESPN/etc.
All of a sudden the score pops up on the big screen at Shea:
Dolphins: 0
Patriots: 3
The few of us remaining in Shea went wild. It was only when i got back to my apartment, i was a student at St John’s, did i find out the guy who plowed the area for the FG kicker was a parolee on work release!!!
It’s called SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), now and it’s administered thru a Credit card-like EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) Card.
They got rid of the paper food stamps because they were being sold on the street for drug/cig/beer money at less than 50 cents on the dollar.
But the EBT card didn’t end that practice, they just found a new way to do it.
I was approached in WalMart by a black woman who wanted to pay for my groceries with her EBT Card and I was to give her my cash. Of course I said no and she went to look for another sucker................

Recently I was behind an EBT customer at the supermarket checkout. Swiped her card and was on her way, no questions asked. When it was my turn, cashier ran my $50 bill under the ultraviolet to see if it was real.
Here they use a special marker pen...........
IOW, they had more faith in the EBT card than US cash.
