I don't care what FR neocons say
UK/US are officially bombing one of the poorest countries on Earth.
It's unconscionable.
I want peace. Enough.
They attacked our ships.
This is for your poor chest: 40 years ago Iran orchestrated the killing of 241 US military personnel in Beirut. This debt hasn’t been called in for 40 years and it must be. With interest. To make your life easier, consider today’s event to be a part of that…
Simple reply.
Simple answer.
Simple solution.
Simple logic prevails in almost all situations.
“So what’s your plan?”
I hope the LT doesn’t mind me piping in on this one...
The goal is to either destroy the Houthi capability to interdict international shipping, or to destroy their will to do so.
Either or both.
Congress has not even explicitly authorized this action
It should not be happening .
Biden is a menace.
I don’t think its just bombing at randon targets and civillians. I don’t think pirates and other countries armed forces should get a pass when they attack international shipping and other military ships, regardless of how poor they are.
I am in favor of wiping out pirates regardless of where they are from. Doesn’t facfor into the equation.
It’s not authorized by the US Congress for one thing.
If Biden wants to bomb the hell out of the poorest nation on Earth he needs to make his case to Congress
And here’s lies the difference between Jacksonians and total Isolationists.
Playing devil’s advocate a bit - but what you say appears to mean “they didn’t pay US enough”. Is freedom of the seas a pay-for-play proposition, or a global agreement? (If the U.S. is the only force to guaranty it is a separate issue.)
They were a couple strikes. Pudding pip head has called a lid, and went to bed.
We’re going to be fed a lot of propaganda on the networks about why we’re bombing the poorest nation on EARTH which poses no threat to the average American (or Brit) back home.
This is why presidents MUST come to Congress before authorizing military action like this so it can be properly debated and not propagandized on TV networks .
For one, lives are at risk and taxpayers are the ones expected to pay for this.
Is that too much to ask?
These corporations want peace and stability, so they can make their money, let them pay for it.
“ It’s unconscionable.”
So you are ok with terrorists raining missiles into shipping lanes and stopping the flow of commerce ?
Destroy the missile launching capabilities, do what’s possible to minimize the loss of innocent lives.
Innocent lives?
You mean the children and civilians we’re going to kill in the poor country of Yemen ?
They lack basics such as medicine as it is can you imagine their hospitals now after bombing the sh!t out of them ?
Think these things through please
1. It's a global agreement.
2. The U.S. is one of the few major countries in the world that has refused to ratify the current United Nations "open seas" treaty.
No matter how you look at it, the U.S. military has no business serving as a security force for foreign commercial shipping. I believe it's also illegal to do this under Federal law.
Then go ask the pirates in Yemen to stop attacking ships.
Oh and by the way no one has authorized this
JOE BIDEN IS NOT A DICTATOR
He has a Congress to deal with and you should be mad as hell he’s ignoring it
Shippers can either provide, and pay for, their own security, or they can do the classic "pay off." Either would get the job done without getting me involved.
