MTA police officers fatally shot a parolee armed with a loaded Uzi machine pistol in the head as they tried to arrest him late Friday for groping a 19-year-old woman in Queens, authorities said.
The armed parolee, identified by police sources as Bashe McDaniel, had done five stints in prison, mostly for weapons possession and was convicted of manslaughter in 1990, according to court records.
The woman entered MTA’s Long Island Rail Road headquarters on 91st St. in Jamaica, next door to Jamaica Station at about 10 p.m. Friday and claimed that McDaniel had groped her, MTA Chief of Police John Mueller said at a press conference.
The woman said the stranger, who was wearing a baseball cap with the word “Killa” on it, had blocked her path and grabbed her breasts, officials said. She had managed to snap a photo of him before reporting the incident to police.
MTA cops went looking for the suspect, and quickly found McDaniel steps from Jamaica Station and Long Island Rail Road headquarters.
The 52-year-old man was wearing a distinctive jacket with a letter “B” on it that had been described by the victim, Mueller said. He was also a match for the man in the photo the victim shared with cops.
“We showed him a picture of himself that the victim of the forcible touching took,” Mueller said.
The two MTA officers — whose body-worn cameras were turned on — tried to arrest McDaniel, but he put up a struggle, Mueller said.
“He refused to put his hands behind his back,” the police chief said.
The officers Tased him, but McDaniel managed to get off a shot with the Uzi, which police said was equipped with a 30-round magazine.
In the ensuing shooting the officers returned fire, fatally striking the suspect...

Never leave home without it.
Fine shooting officers! And an excellent use of taxpayer dollars. Who knew that a 30 cent investment could save millions!
He took the assuming room temperature challenge. Unfortunately many years too late.
That station (Jamaica on the LIRR) is super busy during M-F as it’s on the way for LI residents to reach Manhattan.
“loaded Uzi machine pistol in the head” I took 5 retarded writers to come up with that line?
I wonder what he really had.
That’s the only thing that could have and would have stopped him.
Another stint in jail would have done nothing and he would have picked up where he left off when he got out.
He also shot an elephant in his pajamas, but how the elephant got in his pajamas...
That area southwest of Queens is also pretty bad.
The place is not safe. I went to look for a coffee house, but there weren’t even signs for businesses. All of the businesses had doors that came down and completely hid the establishments.
Two food stores couldn’t be seen from the street, but when you accidentally found them, they looked lush, inside.
The media will use this to vilify law abiding gun owners. Also, what is a Uzi “machine” pistol? Is that a standard Uzi semi-automatic firearm or a new description of the Mac-10? Or is “machine pistol” just supposed to sound a bit more scary?
Very poetic photo....
Looks like a MAC
Nice job by the police. One less thug off the street and one less thug that the DA and lib judges won’t be able to allow the thug to walk the street.
Mac-11 “Mini-Mac” maybe.
Everything is either an Ak-47,M-16/ar-15, uzi, “machinegun”, or glock to the mediatards.
They don’t know anything about firearms, don’t want to know anything, are proud of that, but will enthusiastically tell you how they are the only reliable sources of information on them.
THAT looks like a MAC 10 or 11. As was said in Night of The Comet when the girl’s MAC jammed. “That’s the problem with these things, they jam! Daddy would have gotten us UZIS!”
Nope- it is a Mac 10-9mm. Aftermarket mag. My bad, just saw one pic at first.
According to their update it was a full auto MAC 10 machine pistol. Now where did he get one of those! Wonder if he paid the IRS for a license! A current starting price tag of $7,000!
“However, the once mighty Mac 10 is no longer in production by its original manufacturer, Military Armament Corporation (MAC). The company faced financial difficulties and closed its doors in 1976, “
