The article clearly said,
"...MTA police officers fatally shot a parolee armed with a loaded machine pistol in the head...".
However, the article also exclusively referred to the weapon as a MAC-10, not an Uzi.

That was quite a sentence. Head holsters don’t seem tactically useful, unless an LEO demands that you put your hands on your head. Then it might come in handy.
