OK I went to his twitter page to see if he's explained his vote on FISA inclusion in the NDAA and not a peep.
It's full of interviews etc. of him being against Free Speech on campuses
What is he doing?
He might not like certain speech but as a Member of Congress it's not up to him to decide.
He's losing the plot with all this.
John Cornyn is taking heat on the NDAA (rightly).
I still haven't heard anything from Cruz.
Perhaps someone from TX can find out what the situation is.
He can't hide from this forever!
“Please give an example or two.”
How about 3.4 million examples.
“The feds still use warrantless surveillance to invade the privacy of millions of Americans. A new transparency report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) shows that from December 1, 2020, to November 30, 2021, the FBI used its Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) powers to search the communications of up to 3,394,053 Americans without a warrant.
Canada-Cuban Edwardo Raphael Cruz is 99% loser and 1% hack.
No, he's showing his Canadian side. Secret courts and mass surveillance of citizens is hardly "of, by and for the people".
Why are you so against warrants?
I find your faith in our surveillance state quaint.

“The U.S. government sweeps up its targets’ emails, text messages, and other communications, including their communications with Americans—all without a warrant.”
It would appear that only Americans communicating with ‘targets’ overseas are ‘swept up’. Now how would you sweep up overseas targets without including Americans they are communicating with?

I find your desire to protect the communications of terrorists ‘quaint’ too.
This is one reason I didn’t look back when I migrated to Trump in 2015.

Why are you so against monitoring the communications of terrorist overseas?
Congrats on signing up for thread-moron.
You can STFU now.
If they are targetting specific Americans (like Trump and his supporters) they do mass collection of foreigners they communicate with and get the targeted Americans as part of that bulk collection.

Did you go to Harvard? You certainly sound like a Harvard educated person trying to censor/silence those you disagree with.

Then prosecute those who are targetting Americans. Don’t do away with the law allowing targetting of terrorists.
Amazing the numbers on this thread who still naively believe that this nation's federal intelligence-gathering machine are the good guys.
But they get what they want from a bulk collection of foreign communications where the Americans they are targetting are swept up in the “incidental collection”.
It is a workaround for people to do searches they are otherwise not allowed.
I worked on another system where the operators were limited and monitored on the individuals they searched on. The way around it was to do a bulk extract which ws constructed to include the individuals they were after.
Maybe they are just Glowies.
The abuse of the FISA warrant process is well known. But they pretend that never happened.
The 702 is even worse because they are allowed unrestricted collection of foreigners.
So they just create the bulk extract of foreign communications where they know that the individual Americans they are targetting will be part of the communications with those foreigners, and they get to view US person material via “incidental collection”.
He always votes for this stuff. Remember TPP?
Jon Preston is right. 😆

How are those Nuremburg trials going in Guantanamo?
You know those trials you said were going to try thousands for crimes against humanity. Didn’t you say they were starting July?
Who says they didn’t start in July? Try to keep up. Events are happening very quickly from now on.

So, since you are an expert, having worked on systems like this, what are your suggestions for reform?
