An event like this strengthens fellowship among the members and is a way to reaching out to the community.
Yes, they did raise a collection near the end of the show. The request for optional giving was a fundraiser with 100% of the money donated to fight child sex trafficking. explanations and testimonies were giving of the success they have had over the years
I cannot speak for the Church in Texas, and their website gave no indication of funds being used for worthy causes.
People are quick to condemn large churches, those that do so usually have no idea of the many worthy causes that churches participate in.
I would not be at all surprised if the good folks in Texas were doing something similar.
Are we now going to see it every year because people have to find something to be upset about?

I am sure the cost of the production is A LOT less than the complainers are thinking. Since most have probably never graced the steps of a church, they have no idea that almost everything that happens in a church is volunteer work and everything is financed through voluntary donations.
Today’s scum only understands income confiscation and purchased services. Even in my lifetime there was a time when people turned to family and the church to take care of those facing trouble. Now we just ship granny to the old folks home until she is broke and on the government dole.
