NYC man wins $10M on scratch-off lottery ticket — for the second time

New York’s luckiest man strikes again.

A Brooklyn man won $10 million on a scratch-off this week — a little over a year after he won his first $10 million playing the New York Lottery, the lottery said.

Wayne Murray got a top prize Tuesday while playing the New York Lottery’s 200X scratch-off game.

Last year, he won $10 million playing the Black Titanium game, lottery officials said.

Both of his winning tickets were purchased at the same store, H&A Gas & Convenience on Avenue H in Flatbush.

For his latest win, Murray opted to take home his cash prize in one lump sum, which was just over $6 million after taxes.

Murray also took a single lump sum of just over $6 million in his first win in August last year.

He told lottery officials then that taking home the massive prize felt “very humbling and liberating.”

My friend’s mother just recently won $10,000 on a scratch ticket and I thought that was a lot. 😏

I think that after my first $10 million win, even if the cash lump sum was only $2 million, I'd have gotten the heck outta Dodge and been sipping Mai Tais on a beach somewhere with a warmer climate, not hanging out in Flatbush.

i guess from the site on the ticket there are only 5 $10,000,000 tickets available (per year maybe?)

Prize Amount Prizes at Start ? Prizes Claimed ? Prizes Remaining ? % Prizes Remaining ?
$10,000,000 5 3 2
$100,000 15 7 8
$50,000 25 15 10
$10,000 60 32 28
$5,000 546 292 254

If they could forego some PTA meetings. That was my thought as well. Just a little too ‘lucky’...

Scratch offs have much better odds than the Mega/powerball lotterys which are basically a joke today. It use to be pick 6 numbers out of 54, now it’s 6 out of 72 and they doubled the price, so nobody wins which is why it keeps reaching these ridiculously high jackpots

Why are the 10 million dollar winners going to the same city?
hmmm...
Makes you wonder just how random the distribution really is

I guess the world opens up for you in Flatbush if you have $6MM in the bank. ...At least to the tune of a bonus $6MM! 😏

That is pretty gutsy - what I mean is that this is one of those impossible coincidences.
One has to wonder if this dude is some protected class that will not get a close look.
