It’s a dangerous reflex when one sees something festive and their immediate compulsion is to find or invent something to be ‘outraged’ about.
They become driven to ‘pop every colorful balloon of joy and fun’ within their sights, like a child invading a picnic with his BB Gun.
That becomes their raison d’etre. The payoff is when they think everyone else’s life has become as flat, grey, predictable and lacking in flavor as their own life.
