Mmmmm….usually have French toast with breakfast. A little late for that at this point in the day!
Do people eat French toast at other meal times? I think I’ve only had it as breakfast or brunch.

I love French Toast - but rarely have it for breakfast - too much sugar and too many carbs to start my day.
Doesn’t mean I don’t love it, b/c I DO!
My mother would use real French bread and soak it overnight in egg batter - nothing better.

I got to see Steven Wright years ago in Ohio. That was fun! I love his deadpan.

If you are going to eat carbs, eat them in the morning. And have a plan to work it off, before noon.
I generally stick to a Keto diet, but every two weeks or so, I allow myself a big breakfast.

Funny, I’ve only eaten it for breakfast, usually with bacon as a side. And I love to sprinkle powdered sugar on top instead of syrup.

They forgot the secret to making the best French Toast - fry it in the leftover grease from cooking the bacon!

‘French Toast’ is considered a dessert in other parts of the world. And waffles too. Americans are weird in this respect.................

The real secret is a bit of vanilla in the egg mixture.

Our family tradition growing up was savory “French toast”. Rather than syrups or powdered sugar, ours is heavily salted and peppered.
Only way I can enjoy it now. Sweet French toast is strange to me.

Our family tradition growing up was savory “French toast”. My English wife calls it "eggy-bread" ... basically, French toast without the sugar or cinnamon or any other sweetener. She eats it all of the time for breakfast or late night snacks. She can't stand the sweet version.

No can do. Carbs + sugar immediately makes me sluggish and sleepy, often for hours if not for the entire days. I cannot shake it off so I’m better off avoiding all of it.

I’ll eat egg-things any time of day.
During Covid lockdown, I often ate a hamburger for breakfast...
