Several editions of the bill have been in circulation with the most recent being designed in 1963 I seem to remember they issued one in 1976 for the bicentennial. It had Jefferson on the front and the signing of the Declaration of Independence on the back

I went through a box of old stuff, looking for one of those valuable $2 bills. Here’s all I found.
I wonder if it’s worth anything.

Okay, now I’m digging out that $2 bill I’ve had since 1976 to see if it might be worth more than $2. It was a brand new bill when I got it.

I looked at some on eBay, someone was touting a bill with a unique serial number.
I thought all serial numbers were unique, unless counterfeit.
I found a couple in my stash, with “4 of a kind” (6666) in consecutive serial numbers. Given the current administration, they are probably worth about 25 cents each.

Back in the 1950’s when I was a little boy growing up in Philly - people called them “she notes”. This was because they were like women - hard to get rid of.
Hey - just remembering how it was.

Somewhere around my house, I have a $2 bill signed by a race car driver who was popular years ago (maybe in the 70s). I can’t remember his name but he drove the #2 car. It was in the bag of old coins I inherited from my mother. Now, I need to remember where I put it. Sigh....

I have one...but it’s new,probably the newest.

if a serial number is printed on the left and ride sight side of the bill starts with the number one and was printed in 1976, the bill would be worth more than $20,000Dang! I have a 1976 $2 bill, but the first digit of the serial number is zero. I also have kept a 1963 red seal $2 bill for a long time, though it's worth only $5 or so because of its condition.

Going to check my stash! Mom sends these $2 bills in all holiday cards. Knowing our luck, she’s most likely mailed the ‘family fortune’ on. ;)

shockingly I actually did have a 1976 one in my stack, but it didn’t start with a 1 on the serial number.
Oh well, back to work!

Interesting. I asked about $2 bills not long ago, and the bank branch here in The Boonies said they don’t normally have any on hand. Some young folks working in retail think they’re counterfeit. :^)
