Our nation has weathered trials and tribulations throughout the 247 years since her Declaration of Independence. It is my personal belief that when she has stumbled, she has managed to right herself because of a remarkable Constitution and leaders like George Washington. In my humble opinion Washington has no equal in our history. When I look to the White House today, it seems inconceivable we are still standing as a unified nation. Is it possible that Washington’s contributions were strong enough to keep the ship of state afloat even in this rudderless time? I believe so.

George Washington issues Farewell Orders to the Continental Army
On this day in history, November 2, 1783, George Washington issued his Farewell Orders to the Continental Army as he officially retired from the service. He concludes the orders with, “May ample justice be done them (the soldiers who fought) here, and may the choicest of Heaven’s favors both here and hereafter attend those, who under the divine auspices have secured innumerable blessings for others: With these Wishes, and this benediction, the Commander in Chief is about to retire from service—The Curtain of separation will soon be drawn—and the Military Scene to him will be closed for ever.”
In these orders, Washington thanks the soldiers for their service and sacrifice. He talks about how astonished he is that they actually won. He mentions God’s intervention on their behalf. He also commends the soldiers for coming together from different backgrounds and cultures and working together to form a cohesive unit.
Washington assures the troops they will be paid by the Congress as the states pony up their share of the debt incurred during the war. He tells them the same virtues of bravery, economy and prudence they exhibited in the war will assist them in being successful in private life as they return home. Lastly, Washington says there is nothing he would not do if it was in his power to assist these men to be successes in life.

and that’s Marine with a capital M
Doesn’t make any difference. ….
….IF doing voice overs gets the TRUTH out so be it. Truth is Truth.
Well, we’ll have to agree to disagree, on that.
My SIL is a special Ed major…and, I don’t believe she has ever used voice overs, on reality, as an optional “teaching” method/explanation, with her students.
They may teach SE best practices, differently, in Indiana colleges, though.
💞
Again, I have no idea if this was a voice over, or not. I’d have to listen closely, to the original audio.
kinda like the sword of Damocles...

Navy Fires Commander of Center Overseeing New Sailor Pay
The Navy has fired the commanding officer of one of the handful of centers responsible for handling its pay and benefits transactions, the service announced Tuesday.
Cmdr. Steven Green was relieved as commander of a Transaction Service Center (TSC) in Great Lakes, Illinois. Capt. Jason Grose, the commander of the Navy Pay and Personnel Support Center, said that the firing was “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to fulfill the responsibilities as commanding officer” in a service press release.
Green became at least the tenth Navy commander to be removed this year.
