This is old news bud.

He had to quit singing due to esophagus problems.

Really good guy. Pretty much founded Red Dirt Music. Most Texans miss him.

austin is the self-anointed “music capital of the world” so they think anybody who’s famous locally must be world-famous.

I saw him perform at the Troubador fest in College Station this past summer. He played well, but looked like death.

Never got to meet him, but I know people who did and they absolutely loved him. Loved to hunt and fish.

Staunch conservative yet married one of the Dixie twits.

Well, at least that is in the general age-range of most massive coronaries.
Can those among us who vigorously doubt Pfizer and the efficacy of the jabs just tell the vaxxers that this one looks legit? Well, subject to further tests, of course.

I saw about 2 minutes of him on Austin City Limits. He was awful and appeared to be really stoned. It certainly wasn’t country.

Wasn’t he married to one of the Dippy Chicks, sorry Dixie Chicks, if they can still be called that.

You posted in the original thread about his death. So this thread is confusing as to your intent. Short memory? Slow news day?

He wrote and sang this great song. My band plays it at almost every gig.

I’m not sure that I have ever heard of this legend.

He didn't say it, the author of the piece said it.

For many of us who pay attention to Country/Americana music, he was a significant artist until he was forced to retire due to throat problems. He was also a good conservative. He was married to a Dixie Tw*t, but had the sense to divorce her back in 2008.
