The woman continued, “We had a good meal, but they sent us a message after asking for money for each person! I thought this was crazy and I would never ask anyone to pay for their food if I invited them over!”
She then asked the forum if she was justified in being “a bit annoyed” and added that she and her partner had already invited her friend over to their place in a few weeks’ time and “wouldn’t ask for anything.”
“That’s awful behaviour!!! What is wrong with some people?!”

They’re from New York?
hahahaha.
Was there a suggested tip amount?
Bidenomics in action.
Better pay up. There’s probably interest accruing.
I would find a new ‘friend’.....................
Post of the day!
Ridiculous...
In that kind of situation. The host should have made absolutely clear upfront. We are doing a special thing and it will be $X per person. Please rsvp.
But to invite somebody to dinner, then blind side them with a bill? Extremely poor taste.
It’s the vig that kills ya.
Sorry lady, see there’s this guy occupying the Oval office who shouldn’t be. It’s what you New Yorkers voted for, sort of like voting to have someone burn your money.
I own, on VHS, a documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright. One of the owners of one of his designs said that he would sometimes drop by with a knick knack of some sort and say he thought it would look really good on the mantle or some such. They thought that was really nice of him. But then they would get a bill for it in the mail. 🤣
Seems like the same scam used by windshield-washing bums.
Of just get rid of an old friend. That leaves room for a new friend, but gives you a chance to chose wisely next time. 🙂
Typical Northeast US burb sheep mentality.
Absolutely unacceptable. An invitation is an invitation.
No longer a friend. Would not invite to my home. Ciao.
Yea, I’ll get right on that.
Send a bill.
Sounds like BS.
“Typical Northeast US burb sheep mentality.”
I am a New York burb inhabitant.
I don’t know anybody who would do this.
OTOH, I am a conservative, and I don’t hang with libs.
Nothing. It’s probably not true.
