Hamas' armed wing said on Monday it will begin executing an Israeli civilian captive in return for any new Israeli bombing of civilian houses without pre-warning.
Abu Obaida, spokesperson for Hamas' armed wing, the IQB, said they have been acting in accordance with Islamic instructions by keeping Israeli captives safe.
He blamed the intended move on Israel's stepped-up bombing and killing of civilians inside their homes in air strikes without warning them.
'We have decided to put an end to this and as of now, we declare that any targeting of our people in their homes without prior warning will be regrettably faced with the execution of one the hostages of civilians we are holding,' he said.
Gaza City has been devastated by airstrikes today in response to the surprise attack launched by Hamas on Saturday.
Israel today ordered a 'complete siege' of the city, cutting off electricity, fuel and food for the Gaza Strip's 2.3 million people.
n a video statement Monday, Israel's foreign minister warned Hamas against harming any of the hostages who were taken from Israel and being held in Gaza.
Eli Cohen said Israel was committed to bringing the hostages home 'in the spirit of mutual responsibility.'

There was a video of several women taken and shown alive later. One woman was drinking what looked to be bottled water. She was roughed up but alive.

Don’t put it past them to use these hostages as human shields. More than likely they have a hostage in every Mosque so if Israel hits it then that hostage dies as the Mosque blows up.

I don’t think Hamas is that stupid. Hostages are their ace of spades to get Hamas prisoners out of Israel. Hamas will keep them alive as trading capital.
Send hamas a message, they have 24 hours to release EVERY hostage or the bombing begins. and the very first target is Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock.
