"Not our country, not our problem"

I want to check the temperature of the room here...

I'm seeing a LOT of conservatives on social media saying the war in the Middle East is not our problem.

As an anti-war conservative I completely agree however it's surprising to see this sentiment among so many mainstream conservatives?!

We're used to being in the minority on these issues.

While supportive of Israel and absolutely condemning the horrific attacks and hostage taking that we've witnessed it appears many Americans are sick and tired of the foreign interventions.

Only the Neocons on social media are demanding U.S involvement.

In fact I posted one yesterday:-

Nikki Haley: This is not just an attack on Israel — this was an attack on America

Have I got this right? What are your thoughts...

The skepticism is a separate question - I said that Hamas attacking Israel is the United States’ “problem” - but not one in which the USA needs to send troops in.

This is similar to the case with Ukraine - it is the USA’s “problem”, but not one where American troops need to go in.

What about a war between Mali and Togo? Not the USA’s problem.

When is it “the USA’s problem”? When the situation can harm American interests.

Resources ARE spread thin - yes. But if we don’t help Israel NOW, then we will have a larger payment in a few years.

That’s one problem right there. Our government thinks it is in charge of the planet.
They don’t realize we’re out of money. They don’t realize they can’t sanction to get their way because other countries are just trading with their own currencies.
I just heard some talking head on TV say we should sanction China from buying oil from Iran. They’ve been doing that for years and sanctions won’t stop them.

It will be our problem because Hamas is here. Joe let them in. And they are just waiting for the signal.

Yeah keep playing your game if casing everyone a neocon.
If mainstream conservatives think Israel is not on the list of countries we need as an ally, then their ignorance will soon lead us to destruction.

I don’t believe it is the mainstream conservative opinion, but it does show this leftist defeatist isolationist nonsense is truly dangerous.

September 29, Jake Sullivan was interviewed on PBS by The Atlantic on preservation of democracy. It was all about Trump and MAGA. That keeps him up at night, not anything in the Middle East.

The Biden Administration too focused on bullshit and not the real threats.
The State Department Daily pressers on Israel is always answered the same way.

“We support a two state solution” and “I can't comment on that”

There is a Speaker of the House, just not a permanent one. The house can function today as it did three weeks ago. That is..it can barely function.

I haven’t seen any person suggest that the US get involved beyond giving them arms support and intelligence.

Ukraine is the EU’s problem. Israel is our democratic friend and we should help them.

Its too soon to determine the level of US involvement, but not too soon for the usual suspects here to clamor for ‘more war’.

My guess is Israel will overreact to this attack and the United States if its not careful will get tarred with the same brush.

The CIA is deep into the world at war. Are we responsible for the CIA and Deep state?

Many conservatives I know used to think modern Israel was something akin to Israel from biblical times.

It turns out that Israel is nothing more than a modern, secular state that is no different than the rabidly secular European countries they are trying to imitate. They just dress it up in Judaism for political reasons, and to attract evangelical Christians as tourists.

Among these conservatives, the biggest transformation came when Jerusalem hosted its first "Gay Pride" parade. At that point, there was no reason for any of these people to pretend anymore.

Washington was talking about no intagling alliances. We should get out of all International Orgs. Alliances should be made on a country by country basis.

I feel the timing of the speaker election has given everyone pause for thought.

I'm glad McCarthy got bounced. He was all over tv crying like a baby, he's not a leader.

False. The US House continues to operate as normal under the Speaker Pro Tem. They don’t need to elect a Speaker until the new Congress in Jan 2025 is they don’t want to. A new Congress elects a Speaker in Jan to set the rules and swear in the members. Once that is done, a Speaker Pro Tem assumes the role of Speaker until a new Speaker is elected even if that takes months

And that is the problem, we are at war. Americans have been massacred, taken hostage, abused, and killed. That is not something we leave for someone else to address. That is our problem. Biden and Harris need to call for a declaration of war. They won't. The House should issue and pass a declaration of war. Islamic Cult and Iran-back, Biden and Harris funded Hamas attacked the US, has and is killing Americans, holding them hostage. Declare the obvious war we are in and prosecute it without mercy.

Nothing much can be done without an elected speaker. Biden purposely lied when he said he made a side deal with Mccarthy and wham! No republican speaker.

Yes, Israel is not GODLY, but it was still formed by GOD and he protects it. Judgment on Israel will come for it’s unbelief in due time. America is under Judgment, although a merciful one so far, because we have no excuse. We were founded as the only Biblical Nation in history and we have stayed from it, and allowed Demonic marxism to infiltrate everywhere.

badly divided........the lefties even disdaining to be reservists.
