An Arizona man was shocked to find out that his wife was allegedly putting bleach into his daily coffee after he set up secret cameras to observe her behavior.
The unidentified U.S. airman from Tucson began to wonder why his coffee was tasting weird, so he tested the water in the coffee pot with pool chemical testing strips. It tested positive for chlorine, despite the tap water testing negative.
That's when he decided to investigate further.
He initially set up one camera that caught her putting something into the coffee maker, but when he went to police, they said it was unclear what she was putting into the water reservoir.
He then set up three cameras — one in the laundry room, another in the kitchen, and a third above the coffee maker — while he was stationed in Germany. The videos captured his wife, 39-year-old Melody Felicano Johnson, allegedly pouring bleach into the coffee maker.
The two were going through a divorce but were still living together with their child, according to court documents.
“He stated she knew that he would prep his coffee pot to be ready at night so that in the morning he just needed to turn it on to make his coffee,” read a criminal complaint. “At that time he stopped drinking the coffee but continued to pretend to drink it as he did not want to make a report of this while in Germany.”
The husband told police that he suspected she was trying to kill him in order to collect his death benefits.
Johnson was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree homicide, attempted aggravated assault, and adding poison to food or drink. She was booked at the Pima County Adult Detention Center and held on a bond of $250,000.
The woman claimed to investigators that her husband had sexually assaulted her during the time they lived overseas.
Here's a local news report about the shocking incident:

Did she set up 3 cameras to provide adequate documentation of her claim? If not, then he seems to have the upper hand.
Wedded bliss! Ain’t it grand?
Marriage is grand.
Divorce is a Hundred Grand................
That’s a relief. I can start giving the cat bleach again!
I would think he could taste the bleach in the coffee.
That is why poison like antifreeze is so dangerous. It is sweet to the taste. So, if you spill it on the ground your dog will eagerly lap it up.
Honey, I can smell the bleach. Its not gonna work this time either.
But...he had the cleanest coffee cup on base.
> An Arizona man was shocked to find out that his wife was allegedly putting bleach into his daily coffee ... There’s a word that doesn’t belong in this sentence. <
We can’t be sure of anything anymore! For example, was the victim really a man from Arizona? So to err on the side of caution, I think the sentence needs more words.
An alleged Arizona man was allegedly shocked to find out that his alleged wife was allegedly putting bleach into his alleged daily coffee ...
Or, simplified: Something bad happened. Allegedly.
We had a ‘Coffee Mess’ in the Marines, in our work area at Camp Lejeune, back in the 70’s.
It was nasty. I bet that coffee urn, about 30 cup size, had never been cleaned since day one, whenever that was. It was there when I got there in 1974 and was still there when I left in 1977.
If anything, BLEACH would have been an improvement!................................
My sister drank Clorox when she was little. Now a healthy FReeper.
Once I drank 1/4 cup of bleach by accident. I called the poison control center and they told me to drink a glass of milk and not worry about it. Decades ago I lived in a small town in Florida and the water always tasted like bleach.
Ft. Walton Bleach?.................Their water is always ‘bleachy’..................
WHAT KIND OF MARINE WASHES A COFFEE POT OR COFFEE CUP?!?
At my first duty station in Okinawa, I was a lowly PFC and everyone above me started with a rocker or had shiny stuff on their collar. So, I WAS “field day”!
On my first field day, I saw Top’s coffee mug was nasty and gross and stained and filthy...so trying to be an exceptional Marine I cleaned it. I don’t remember how long it took, but I do remember getting that cup just close to an off-white color took more time than field daying four offices, including waxing and buffing the floors!
Let’s just say that Top was not nearly as happy about my hard work as I originally thought he would be...
Lol- I beleive it was Reagan, before he was president, was talking to some foreign leaders and said something like “my movie is going to premier on such and such a date, I’d like you to see it... oh and bring a friend... if you have one”
The fella replied back something like “I can’t make the opening day, but I’ll catch it at the next showing,... if there is one”
If his bleach enhanced coffee was only "weird", then his taste buds have been burned out by drinking way too much "GI coffee".
I did the same thing once.
In 1974, I was a PFC in PMEL school with a Staff Sgt, who had been with our class since 29 Palms Basic Electronics. He had a coffee cup that was nearly black with stains. It was truly gross.
One morning before class, I too k his cup to the kitchen mess and used comet to clean it bright white like new.
He was not pleased. He knew I did it, but couldn’t say anything to the CO, like “HE CLEANED MY COFFEE CUP!” LOL!....
As it turned out, after we graduated, he and I both were sent to Lejeune as permanent duty stations and he and I became good friends as I rose thru the ranks to Sergeant before leaving in 1977.

And yet she DID NOT say anything until now. I hope this bitch goes to jail for a very long time.
