Can your doctor now prescribe Ivermectin for Covid?
American Thinker ^ | 08/19/2023 | W.A. Eliot

In the midst of a legal appeal by three doctors (Paul Marik of Virginia, Mary Bowden of Texas, and Robert Apter of Arizona) claiming FDA interference in their medical practice being disciplined for prescribing ivermectin to their patients for COVID-19, a DoJ lawyer representing the FDA admitted in court on August 11 that a doctor can prescribe ivermectin for COVID and always could.  The judge even asked questions about the meaning of the word "stop" in the FDA's (in)famous tweet: "You are not a horse.  You are not a cow.  Seriously, y'all.  Stop it."  In this context, the issue of FDA misrepresentation and potential liability also came up.

In a sane world, these people would be tried and punished for crimes against humanity for all the people who needlessly died being denied access to drugs like ivermectin.  In the real world, nothing at all will happen to them.

To me, the FDA admission is not surprising at all.  We always knew that doctors could in theory prescribe the drug (already approved for many other ailments) off-label, so long as he was doing so responsibly and not recklessly endangering the patient.  But the medical establishment effectively changed the rules (as they often do during times of medical emergencies or diseases).  Understand the model of NIH/FDA/AMA collusion, and it all makes sense.

In simple terms, NIH is the policymaker. It decides which drug(s) to fund studies on, like the Big Pharma vaccine$ for the uninfected, or remde$ivir for those already infected and hospitalized. Under no circumstances would it have financed, at least early on, a study, with the same burden of proving efficacy as Big Pharma, of a generic like ivermectin, which might prove to be effective post-infection, because then the FDA would be pressured to grant the generic approval

In the old days fairy tales began with, “Once upon a time.” Today they begin with, “In a study released by the CDC.”

In the old days, fairy tales generally had a happy ending.

I've been taking ivermectin ever since the Feds cut off hydroxychloroquine. Durvet ivermectin was hard to find for a while; I tried other brands; they all worked fine. Ivermectin is good stuff, safe as can be too. The toxicity margin is something like you'd have to take 1000 tubes before you'd notice any toxicity.

There is not a whole lot of difference between dogs and horses and people as far as organs and bodily functions go. Anyway, they have tested ivermectin on tens of millions of people in Africa. It was so successful that its inventors were awarded the Nobel Prize.

There’ve been a number of physicians who regularly prescribed Ivermectin around here during the lockdown. The problem was getting the scripts filled by the pharmacy.

Exactly; or any Farmers Supply should have the equivalent

My wife and I have been taking this for a few years now. Every month we take a dose. No side effects (first dose had minor stomach rumbles about 20 minutes after the dose; they quickly went away and never returned). Expect there some parasites that have been hitching a ride for decades and are now gone

Over a lifetime, you will eat unwashed fruit from a garden or off a tree, get licked by a puppy / kitten, get a bite from a mosquito or something. Modern medical checkups never give you a dewormer or check for parasites. Odds are you have them. They can then cause other issues - so why risk it?

...you'd have to take 1000 tubes before you'd notice any toxicity.

Emergency rooms were overflowing with overdoses. The horror. Kinda looks like the medical community was pedaling malarkey -

The CDC issued a health advisory Thursday detailing an increase in severe illness caused by ivermectin, a medication commonly used to deworm horses.

Thanks for the Ivermectin link, Dennis. The link says the product has no expiration date if stored properly, interesting.

I bought Ivermectin from another source back in 2021 in case I needed it, never got sick or vaxxed. It has an expiration date.

Doctors have the power to prescribe Ivermectin for what they see fit. The question is, if they prescribe it for Covid, will the Big Pharma loyalists who control their state medical licensing board take away their license to practice medicine? US doctors are terrorized into staying in line by state licensing boards.

I could hear the anxiety in my docs voice when I just tried to talk to him about it. It wasn’t an option, end of conversation!

Do you trust those guys? Kind of a wonky web site. Then there is this: “No Prescriptions Required!”

It is still a prescription medication.

As I have said, over and over again, the FDA does not have the authority to regulate prescribing of licensed drugs UNLESS the license is issued with restrictions.

The ivermectin license is not restricted (it is very rare for a license to carry a restriction), so it has always been legal to prescribe ivermectin for COVID.
