Country music legend Craig Morgan reenlisted in the Army at age 59 and was sworn in on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on Saturday.
You’ve got a heart of stone if the video of Morgan reenlisting doesn’t make you ball your eyes out. The former veteran was joined on stage by Gen. Andrew Poppas, Sgt. Maj. Todd Sims, and Republican Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn, and sworn in in front of a sold-out crowd, according to Stripes.
Apparently, Blackburn was a big part of the reason Morgan made the decision to reenlist. During a conversation over the Army’s low recruitment numbers in 2022, Morgan said he wanted to sign back up. He’d previously served 17 years for his country, ten of which were spent on active duty.
The only problem was Morgan’s age. He was 58 at the time, and the mandatory retirement age for the Army is 62. That’s when Blackburn stepped in and made sure Morgan’s dream came true.
“I realized that there’s so much that I’ve missed — the friends, the feeling of the sense of accomplishment,” Morgan said of his decision, Stripes reported. “I realized that I’ve missed it so much and I truly believe that I still have more to give.”
Morgan will now hold the rank of Staff Sergeant and Warrant Officer, and he plans to continue recording, releasing, and touring with his music, Fox noted.
Having seen Morgan perform up here in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, I can honestly say this move doesn’t surprise me. I’ve never met someone with more respect, faith, and passion for his country and his fellow countrymen.

He’s gonna love being led around by 24 year olds. Lol. He did his time. Weird he wants to join at his age. If we were in a war, I could see him wanting to help. But it’s relatively peace time right now At least for the United state military. Planning future war is main tasks right now.

If it’s real, then I’m grateful to this man for re-enlisting, but I’m very concerned that it is now necessary.
This is part of the fallout when you have a rule that Trans-recruits don’t have to travel with their units if they are due for Sex Swap Surgery. Trans-recruits don’t have to stay fit or even exercise with their units.
How can you be a staff sergeant and a warrant officer at the same time?

As I understand it, this is real. But he won’t be returning to the infantry. He will serve out his enlistment as a recruiter.

It’s called an LDO, Limited Duty Officer.
A senior enlisted man that fills the slot of an officer where an officer is not available.
We had a 2nd Lieutenant that was actually a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Morgan was in the Army in the Reagan era, when it was an honorable profession defending our country against the Soviet menace. He is delusional if he thinks the military is the same institution it had been in his youth. Recruiting young people to be exposed to moral degeneracy and hatred of the white race is far from honorable.

Is this an LDO situation, or a permanent/temporary/reserves rank situation? Are there even Warrant LDOs?
I think it’s a special deal set up by Senator Blackburn just for him.

Anyway, it reminds me of an episode of MASH. Hawkeye wanted to get Radar into an officer’s club. But Radar was only a corporal. So Hawkeye pinned one of his captain’s bars on Radar’s hat.
Well, someone in the club noticed that Radar was also wearing corporal’s stripes. “It’s a new Army rank,” Hawkeye explained. “Corporal-Captain.”
...or, maybe it's like Corporal Captain O'Reilly.
Wait until he is reprimanded for not accepting the woke ideology.
Maybe he’s signing up to get 3 more years so he can get his 20 in and qualify for retirement benefits?
I watched and noticed they left out “from enemies foreign and DOMESTIC”.
WONDER why!?!?
