NY Donny said that male Caitlyn Jenner would be welcome to use the women’s restroom at Trump properties.

NY Donny cannot be trusted on this issue. He is too found of courting celebrity approval.

So why didn’t the man made famous for using the phrase, “You’re fired” actually use that phrase on Fauci?

And what happened to Birx?

She was front and center at first. Why did she disappear and leave Fauci running the show?

Iowa certainly had covid restrictions, such as closures of businesses and schools.

She was there the whole time. But again, Pence ran the Covid response team.

Why didn’t Trump name a new head of the response team?

No matter how you slice it, Trump was ultimately responsible. Truman said, “the buck stops here”.

Apparently, everyone else wants to simply pass the buck.

Principles still left unfulfilled, let’s say.

I don't get a McCain/Romney vibe from DeSantis. I just don't.

Nothing would make me happier than to have Trump back in the WH, but with so much evil coming out of the Biden DOJ who knows how all of this will end.

So much can happen between now and Election Day. IDK why people are getting hysterical about DeSantis. They should save ever ounce of hysteria for Biden.

Oh, I don’t get a McCain/Romney vibe from him either. What I get I a Washington D.C. or a Deep State vibe.

And I agree with your last line. His candidacy ensures that is unlikely to happen, though, IMO.

You underestimate the power Fauci actually wielded. First off, he was a Federal Government employee. My father used to work for NIH, and getting rid of a government employee was not easy. Getting rid of an employee as high up as Fauci, would have been impossible.

You have to remember, when Truman was president, he had the authority to get rid of a government employee at his whim.

That authority was eliminated by JFK, when he allowed them to unionize.

Thus, your statement, is naĂŻve at best. You don't even understand why the government has become the problem it has become. Unaccountable bureaucrats who wield more power than our elected officials. These bureaucrats work with Democrats, against Republicans.

BTW, Trump received more votes in 2020 than DeSantis received in his reelection.

Not sure how you've come up with that. Trump had 46.9% of the total votes in 2020. He only gained 0.4% from 2016. Of course, we'll never know the true number because of the fraud we all know took place in 2020. What we do know is that DeSantis had 59.4% of the total votes in 2022 which was a hefty gain of 9.8% from 2018.

I'm assuming you're not comparing the raw vote counts between a federal election to a state one. I think an important difference is that Trump never won the popular vote, and he was unlikely ever to do so. This is basically a 50/50 voter base, and Democrats are better at controlling their hive-minded minions than Republicans are at persuading their herd of individualism-loving cats.

Trump did extremely well against Hillary, all things considered. We'll never know the true count then either, since it would unlikely that fraud wasn't attempted, but the Democrats were so sure that Hillary would win with ease that they weren't ready to cheat enough. At this point, it will take a miracle for anyone but a leftist to win.

New law shields DeSantis’ use of state vehicles to campaign
“The legislature has enabled him to hide his travel records so we don’t know and have no way to hold him accountable if he is using state resources in his campaign or if that is even the case,”

New Hanky-panky.
New skullduggery.

2020 United States presidential election in Florida

Nominee Donald Trump
Party Republican
Home state Florida
Electoral vote 29
Popular vote 5,668,731
Percentage 51.22%

2022 Florida gubernatorial election

Nominee Ron DeSantis
Popular vote 4,614,210
Percentage 59.4%

Votes Cast:

Presidential Race 2020: 10,965,776
Gubernatorial Race 2022: 7,720,523

There were 3,245,253 more votes cast in the presidential.

I agree with you that there was very noticeable cheating that occurred in 2020 in large part due to Covid & mail-in ballots. Of those extra votes in there for the presidential race, it's a pretty safe bet that the excess were illegitimate votes for Biden. What the exact numbers were, are hard to determine. Could it have been as high as 8 or more percentage points? I think that is a very real possibility. Democrats obviously wanted Florida, but they were unable to steal Florida. Mainly because Florida is a pretty solid red state & they controlled the machine with their personnel, and mass mail-in ballots were not as available for them to cheat, because the mail-in ballots were not sent out in the vast quantities that they were sent out in other swing states.

There is no doubt that DeSantis was very highly thought of in Florida & beyond. I too was a big fan of his. Too bad, for him, that he showed his true allegiance was to the GOPe, and not the people, because the GOPe showed their allegiance was to the Uni-party in 2020, and not the base. As a lifelong Republican I will work hard to help the people take the Republican Party away from the existing GOPe & put it under new leadership of people who care about & love this this nation.

So you’re saying that Trump caved to demonic LGBTQ activists in order to make money and that’s ok? It’s not ok to me. There are plenty of businessmen who honor their core values and still make a profit.

The fact is that Trump has no core values where gays and trans are concerned, as he has demonstrated time and again.

He could have kept Fauci in his day job and appointed someone else as Covid czar. Nobody would have blinked. There are plenty of non Hillary-enthralled doctors out there who could have done the job. But, no, Trump had to promote the deepest of Deep State actors and give him almost unlimited power over us all.

It amazes me the mental contortions some FReepers will do in order to excuse Trump’s shortcomings. Trump effed up badly, and honest people would admit it.

>>”Again, DeSantis was reacting to another problem. He picks the low-hanging fruit, and he knew back then he was running for the presidency.”

Very perceptive point, and worth repeating. That picking of low-hanging fruit is a major feature of DeSantis’s opportunistic political career. He has adopted Trump’s stances on so many issues that he had never talked about and that were never a priority for him before Trump came on the scene. And piggy backs on the success of others and then tries to portray himself as a leader, going so far as to criticize Trump for not completing the wall that he would never be discussing if Trump hadn’t single handedly made it a viable issue.

It was Trump who was willing to endure the vitriol and the charges of racism from the Dems/MSM and not give up on a policy he knew was right. Trump stuck with it until it became evident that the border wall was actually a winning issue that the public supported. We would never have known that if we had relied on politicians like DeSantis.
