DeSantis says Trump has been a pioneer on injecting men into women's competitions

Meanwhile, Trump was trying to keep Americans safe from a virus that was intentionally being hyped as something more than it was. BTW, DeSantis locked down his state much tighter than he is admitting right now.
Trump was trying to reopen the economy. DeSantis did not reopen the state of Florida until Trump called him & suggested that he reopen Florida.
Trump has exposed everything that we are now seeing. DeSantis would never have exposed anything, and he won't do anything if elected, though the more people get to know DeSantis more, the less likely it becomes. His support has fallen drastically, because the initial blush people had for DeSantis, has been replaced with the reality of DeSantis. He's just another political hack. Shame you people who support him, can't see what he really is.

Transgender bathrooms: Trump administration reverses Obama policies
I think he has dumb advisors. Also, I just don’t think DeSantis is either inspiring or particularly quick on his feet.
Whenever I have watched him, I find him completely wooden.
But even in saying that, in the job he holds, that deficiency I see in him is not a disqualifier. DeSantis is a fine governor of a state. The arena is smaller and more limited, the issues can often be tackled by an aggressive governor, and those are almost always state issues, as they should be. If he is wooden or slow it doesn’t have the same impact at a state level as it does when running for President.
It is true that governorships have been a better track to the Presidency in recent history than say, senatorial experience, but being a good governor does not make someone a good President any more than being a good Senator is any indicator of what kind of President someone would be. (Not pointing my finger at the current occupant of the White House, as an example here)
In my opinion, DeSantis was doing more good for this country by fighting issues as the Governor of a large and influential state, and fighting those issues in the context of state law and state rights. It was better suited to him, IMO.
I find that unfortunate. I really think he did himself a disservice by jumping in as he did. (see my post just above)
Doesn’t anyone even try to make sure of the facts before trying to paint DeSantis as someone not paying attention to important issues?
According to http://www.news4jax.com/news/local/2023/05/16/gov-desantis-holds-news-conference-bill-signing-in-south-florida/ , he signed several bills dealing with human trafficking and immigration in May of this year. But the Trump cheering squad seems to be deaf about what a working governor can do while campaigning.
In 2022, the Florida Supreme Courts allowed DeSantis to empanel a statewide grand jury to investigate if any municipalities or government entities were helping to traffic illegal aliens. Some of the findings are at http://www.myfloridalegal.com/newsrelease/shocking-grand-jury-presentment
Too much emphasis on Governor instead of the Legislative branch.
DeSantis would be nothing without the Legislative branch.
They brought forth the bills the people wanted, he just signed them into law...
for the popularity bump and the ability to be able run for POTUS as well (the law got changed),
but that sounds a little duplicitous so...pretend I never said it.
/contrarian thinker
JEB!was a great governor, GWB was a great governor, Scott Walker was a great governor, Cristy was a great governor AND none of them are POTUS material!!!
Trump wasn’t trying to re-open the economy.
Trump handed the reigns to Fauci and let Fauci run.
Trump cannot try to rewrite that history. My memory is too vivid.
DeSantis’ fight with Disney happened before his historic reelection. If he was hurt because of his stance, it didn’t show up in the voting results.
I like your thinking, but I will go even farther: it’s time to let it all collapse.
What was the FReeper phrase so popular during the Obama years?
Going Galt?
What a pathetic loser DeSellout is. Nothing like pandering to the TDS Democrats. With A-Holes like this on our team who needs enemies?
Just another Trash Uniparty Sellout.
Sigh. I have to generally agree. On the positive side, the governorship DOES impart executive experience to the Governor, and in a more focused environment that works well much of the time.
I just do not believe that it is a given that the skill translates to the Presidency.
Trump has exposed a lot to Americans, that they were completely unaware of. DeSantis has rode his coattails, because he lacks any lasting charisma, or originality for that matter. He has zero loyalty too. Worse yet, he cackles on par with Kamala Harris.
That could be.
But if you read Trump’s remarks on the topic you will note that he suggests that Disney can do things that will be very dnaging to the FL economy.
There are many ways to fight. Trump suggests that Disney has multiple opportunities.
Regardless, Trump did not defend or support Disney. What he did was criticize the way DeSantis handled the problem.
Years ago, some of us were all ready to accept the crazy thoughts of men becoming women...because we thought it was only a few crazies who would embrace this CRAP.
Fast forward to today, and this insanity is OUT OF CONTROL.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT SOMETHING SOOOO CRAZY WOULD CATCH ON AND CAUSE BAD TEACHERS AND OTHERS TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY?
I was one who believed “live and let live”
NOW, this must be addressed in a serious manner and STOP IT BEFORE WE ARE OVERPOWERED BY ITS NONSENSE.
Where did you get that big of nonsense?
Like the great Jim Robinson stated, I will vote for either man, depending on who gets the nomination.
Ugh.
I know, and Iikely will pull the lever for the “R” too, but damn.
This pulling of the lever for the lesser of two evils (Bush/Gore, Bush/Kerry, McCain/Obama, Romney/Obama) has contributed much of the problem.
It is only by circumstances I never had to apologize for voting for McCain and Romney.
Makes me shudder to think of it.
