Congressman has grim take after access to UFO footage: 'We can't handle it'
Fox News ^ | 7/12/23 | Chris Eberhart

A Tennessee lawmaker issued a dire warning after claiming to have seen classified UFO footage that hasn't been released to the public.

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., speculated extraterrestrial life forms could have technology that humanity "can't handle" during an appearance on the "Event Horizon" podcast.

"If they’re out there, they’re out there, and if they have this kind of technology, then they could turn us into a charcoal briquette," Burchett said.

"And if they can travel light years or at the speeds that we’ve seen, and physics as we know it, fly underwater, don't show a heat trail, things like that, then we are vastly out of our league."

Burchett is a sitting member on the House Oversight Committee, which has held hearings about potential threats of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), a government-derived term for UFOs.

"We can’t handle it," Burchett said during his podcast appearance about potential alien tech. "We couldn't fight them off if we wanted to. That's why I don't think they're a threat to us, or they would already have been."

His startling comments came after whistleblower David Grusch, a decorated Air Force veteran who is considered by many to be credible, came forward with claims the government has been running a secret UFO retrieval program.

The House Oversight Committee is preparing a hearing to discuss Grusch's unverified claims. Burchett and fellow Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida will lead the committee's investigation.

That has been my point all along.

How could we sit by and allow people to die from bad water or horrible living conditions when power could be “free” and transportation clean. Imagine powering a huge plant without causing any dirty air or water.

We would have “a lot of ‘splainin’” to do.

And the “natives” would not be happy.

The star of Bethlehem was either a conjunction or it was a nova.

When you read ancient texts and “myths” you see a lot of “supernatural” events that seem to “fit” prophecy.

I am not trying to mock your religion. I am a strong adherent to its message of love and redemption. Its a great message and everyone should follow it.

But a reliance on a supernatural being or supernatural “events” can make a person skeptical.

If I recall my kids catechism, the “Immaculate Conception” was the conception of Mary—not Jesus. The thought being that she was without sin, and was created without sin.

Not saying I buy any of it...(I am not Catholic) just trying to be precise in the language.

Thx. I'll check them out.

BTW, hope you didn't get hit by the Vermont flooding last week.

I spent a year in Burlington and Winooski and am very fond of Vt.

I don’t know from where it is driven but it is happening and it seems like a convenient distraction.

It is driven by Dr. Steven Greer and a number of military and civilian material witnesses who are striving to force disclosure. They managed to obtain the ears of open-minded Congressmen. An official disclosure task group was then formed, and they are forcing lawful disclosure.

It is not the government that is forcing this disclosure. It is a group of hard-working civilians and brave people with insider knowledge. People like to point out that such secrets cannot be hidden indefinitely, citing this as the reason it is all bunk. Now when those very insiders start to talk, it is still label as bunk. Talk about The Kobayashi Maru

“. Only a few options exist: (1) they don’t exist, (2) they’re at least somewhat friendly, or (3) they are studying us like we study some primates and isolated aboriginal tribes while trying not to interfere too much. So why worry about it? Is interesting though.”

Option 4—They are here and occasionally snack on folks as the first course of their meals.

The UFO/ETs aren’t demonic either. On the other hand cellular phones with Tik-Tok/Facebook/etc have proven to have had a very negative affect on our society. Not the case with the UFO/ET stuff.

“I suppose you haven’t noticed how many Freepers are aiding and abetting the coverup.”

I don’t see it that way. They are the victims of deep and sophisticated brainwashing—that takes better with some folks than others.

Our job is to hold their hand and gently lead them down the rabbit-hole—even if they are howling incoherently all the way down...

I got a big laugh out of that, because that is exactly what we are trying to do. I appreciate your frankness. The whipping will stop as soon as moral improves.

Yes, it is strange how they were understood so long ago. As both good and evil. In the one... “The Crucifixion Of Christ” in Kosovo from 1350 shows the one UFO chasing away the other UFO. The good chasing bad away.

“Lol... Right straight to 4th grade ridicule because you could not refute my point.”

The skeptics are the same people, who 30 years ago, ridiculed the idea that planets orbited other stars. Their progenitors were screaming that man would never fly.

They’re one-dimensional thinkers and will always be with us.

Any alien civilization that has mastered the technology of intergalactic space travel would necessarily have the power to turn the earth into a briquet and there is likely little we could do about it. However, consider that if such highly advanced civilizations exist …why the heck would they use that technology to cross intergalactic space just to visit what is to them a very primitive civilization? I suppose we could use the example that our civilization has crossed continents to study what we could see as other primitive civilizations, but, that example doesn’t really compare. The level of advancement needed to cross intergalactic space is so beyond our capability there would be no purpose to expend the resources needed for such travel other than to simply satisfy their intellectual curiosity. Again, why bother?

My view is that one of the secrets is that humans are not masters of their own domain—we are part (a “colony”) of a larger “Empire” ruled by others—and as you say there are probably still others contesting the scope of the “Empire”.

“Good” and “bad” in such a context are very subjective—each side probably thinks they are the “good guys” and we may not have enough valid information to know which is which.

Humans get really jumpy when they can’t figure out what “team” they are supposed to be on—and even more jumpy when they find out they are the third string quarterback.
