Australia is set to become one of the first places to allow psychiatric treatment with psychedelics such as psylocibin mushrooms and MDMA.
The body responsible for training Psychiatrists in Australia and New Zealand has published its first guidelines for psychedelic-assisted therapy -- paving the way for some patients to be treated with psylocibin or MDMA from as early as next month.
But Clinicians are urging caution ... saying there's so far little evidence of their effectiveness.
Stage III will involve euthanasia when the shrooms fail.
I have a buddy who has had a very severe stuttering problem all his life. One night a friend of his talked him in to doing mushroom pills and he stopped stuttering.
Biden never sent my “free” crack pipe and now I’m waiting on my psychedelic mushrooms. How many times will Lucy pull away the football from Charlie Brown before we get it?
What kind of mushroom pills?
Fail? I suppose that may be a way to describe the results.
To use Psilocybin on a patient who truly has mental issues sounds like a very bad idea. Dealing with the effects of that hallucinogen on a stable mind is rough enough, but a mind that may not be firmly grounded in reality may have unpredictable results.
Reminds me of L. Ron Hubbard’s Mission Earth.
taxpayer-funded ABC says: “But Clinicians are urging caution ... saying there’s so far little evidence of their effectiveness.”
yet no FakeMSM in the world has done more programs/articles in recent years, promoting psychedelics than taxpayer-funded ABC Australia. just one example:
30 Aug 2021: ABC Australia: ‘Psychedelic renaissance’ sees first legal collection of Australia’s medicinal magic mushrooms
by Jennifer Nichols
Australia’s first legal collection of native “magic” mushrooms could provide medical options to treat severe depression, alcohol and drug addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the fear experienced at the end of terminally ill people’s lives...
The federal government is investing a total of $15 million in grants to support Australian-led research into the use of mushrooms, ecstasy and ketamine to combat illnesses such as PTSD, major depressive disorders, addiction and eating disorders.
“Psychedelic mushrooms are taking off, everyone’s talking about them,” Dr McTaggart said.
“In America the USDA [United States Department of Agriculture] has fast tracked psilocybin treatment. It’s considered a breakthrough therapy,” Dr McTaggart said.
“With COVID-19 right now, I think there’s never been a better time to start looking for therapies for mental health.”...

18 April 2022: National File: WEF Advisor Yuval Harari Ponders How World Will Deal With ‘Useless People’

You’re not alone. There are beneficial results from some of these substances, drug warriors’ rants notwithstanding. Dispassionate scientific inquiry is needed.
Ignorant. People have been episodically trying to use recreational drugs as psych treatment basically forever. Never pans out. The original term for “psychedelics” was “psychotomimetics” … which means, “mimicking psychosis.”
That ought to be a clue, but I guess not.
Since every other one of their “treatments” are failures they need to keep pretending they have found new ones. Got to keep the scam going. Psychedelics will be found to do more harm than good, like all their other treatments. But this will allow them to keep the bucks rolling in for another decade or so.
Far out man
I have no idea. I’ll ask but the guy he got them from was someone he met in a bar. He was the sister of a friend of mine but I can’t ask her cuz she got pissed at me because she got drunk one night and ended up in my bed but I would not “you know” because I have a rule that I don’t do the nasty with drunk women. She won’t talk to me. Lol.
I do know that the guy who had the pills was in the crap in the middle east and had severe PTSD that he manages by using the mushroom pills. It changed him in a big way.
Now it’s really the Magical Land of Oz where you might see flying monkeys and talking scarecrows :)
I had psilocybin mushrooms back in the ‘60s when I was young. Went up to Big Sur with a friend and walked around in the woods. Delightful experience, I had no idea how truly lovely nature is. We both saw individual drops in a waterfall. Made me feel in love with the world.
As an older, physically and mentally healthy person, I think it would be lovely to have that experience again somewhere where it’s beautiful with many animals like birds, squirrels, etc. I love my life and all God’s creatures too.
Would experiences like that help a mentally ill person? Perhaps.
Worked out well for you. I guess it depends on the person.
The man in charge of the program.
I’ve indulged in several things in my youth with no ill after effects, but not everyone can tolerate mind altering compounds easily.
Not sure it would harm you now if your experience was good then.
I think studying the potential is worthwhile as long as all involved are honest about their intentions and results.
Friends often comment on what a good mood I’m in no matter what. Terrible things happen in my life, as in everyone’s. My son died at 64, my beloved son-in -law just diagnosed with liver cancer, I no longer have the kind of money I grew up with.
But I’m still me. When I say that, I can see the reaction friends have. That Aha!
Due to magic mushrooms? Perhaps partially. A friend said decades ago that God gave me a happy soul.
Which leads me to wonder whether all of us got happy souls to begin with.
