Been here a long time. Maybe lost the handle in a few instances. Had posts removed for various reasons. Best place I've ever found. If I lose contact for some length of time, there are actual withdrawals. Schedule entire days on when I should hit 'refresh' and find out how many more crimes the Brandon Brood have committed. Can't imagine going anywhere else. Not kidding.
Sooooo, the Robinsons have a budget that needs to be met. Can't meet it? Things have to be done. Moves have to be made. Don't really give a darn who makes a profit. I sure hope they do and plenty of it! Probably need that extra caysh to pay the electric bill to make sure the server keeps hummin'.

I’ve heard others here say , how Free Republic is completely independent, because of no advertising or sponsors.
If the cash crunch became too severe, we might see advertising show up here. That’s preferable to seeing Free Republic disappear, in my opinion.

I keep my monthly going, and I encourage those who post incessantly from their own blogs to kick in. That grates on some, but I guess we’ll just make America grate again.

I generally don’t have much money, and I’m tapped out after my S/S check comes in, but I’ll try very hard to increase my monthly donation, starting in July.
I suspect they will have to take in ads to keep the site up.

When and if our participants decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away.
Unbelievable. People here constantly, albeit correctly, groan and complain about the corrupt MSM, the destruction of the country, worthless RINOs, etc. yet seem unable to pony up $10 bucks per quarter to keep FR going. I just don’t understand this. Everyone except the most impoverished, economically distressed, can afford to chip in $10 per quarter, and yet the beg-a-thon never ends. Sad commentary on us.
We’re not that short. We’re getting close. We still have another day and a half to go, plus we have another batch of monthlies to be processed tomorrow and hopefully another batch of checks when Chris goes to the PO Box tomorrow.
We’ll be fine. We’ll continue tightening the belt and continue pressing on. There will be better days ahead.

Well that’s good news, Jim, but how about we wrap up the quarterlies in a month to six weeks rather than having to be in a perpetual state of fundraising.
Most that post don’t contribute. That’s sad. I’m living on SS now but I still feel obligated to send what I can. It’s only right. I peruse this site more than any other.
This is what happens when the site gets overrun with trolls, propagandists, DU operatives, and the OG 1st gen freepers are literally dying off, replaced with less then stellar members.
