Ford will begin another round of layoffs this week impacting jobs in the U.S. and Canada, the automaker confirmed to FOX Business on Tuesday.
While the company did not disclose how many employees would lose their jobs, Ford spokesperson T.R. Reid said the actions are related to the manufacturer’s growth plan introduced in 2021, which Ford has been increasingly implementing over the past year.

Yup.
Ford EVs. Mostly built in China. Do it for the environment!
Christ, I’m retired and I still save 1/3 of my retirement income each month. I beat the crap out of myself for missing my goal last month by $60. No worries, I made up for it this month … as long as nothing major comes up in the next three days.
The F-150s with the Ecoboost have a belt driven water pump. Mustangs with the 3.7L V6 are belt driven as well.
FedGov: This administration requires that you do more to increase the infusion of EVs into the proletariat.
Ford rep: But the EV market is minuscule - no one who drives more than a few miles per day wants one. Besides we are losing our ass on each EV we sell today. They are price prohibitive and that price is going up daily due to raw material expenses. Doesn’t anyone in WDC understand basic economics?
FedGov: Your profitability is of no concern to this administration. Only the subjugation of the people ... ahh, excuse me ... only the advancement of the Green agenda is important and the implementation of EVs is a critical part of that transition.
Ford rep: Even with FedGov subsidies we cannot force folks to purchase something they do not want. Besides we have a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders. We ...
FedGov: We are ready to compensate Ford for their financial losses on EV development and sales as shown on your tax returns. After all there is an unlimited amount of tax money available and even if the FedGov cannot cover your immediate losses, we will have the Mint print up more bills.
Please keep in mind that at this point in time ramping up your EV production is only a suggestion. Pray that FedGov doesn’t find your lack of enthusiasm disturbing.
Ford rep: We understand, your majesty. We hear and will obey.
I believe it. I think I listed this before somewhere, but here is the ironic thing about those stupid water pumps. A BUNCH of people had failures with major engine damage so they started a class action law suit. You know the common people against big business just wanting nothing more than an honest product.
And also you know how the Dems are all about the little guy and against big business, so they say.
Guess who ruled against the class action lawsuit?
An Obama appointed democratic female judge from Michigan. Everything is turned upside down—good is bad, bad is now good etc.

I know a lot of the 3.5s have them and many 3.7s. Mine is a 3.5 and has the idiot proved (not proof) design.
Maybe Ford’s rainbow and glitter truck isn’t selling.
True that. Car makers have been under tons of pressure to switch to EV's, from CAFE standards, to ESG "investing", to tax credits and other govt subsidies, to promises by various state governments to ban ICE cars. The government should quit picking winners and losers.
Ford rep: But the EV market is minuscule - no one who drives more than a few miles per day wants one.
On that I respectfully disagree. Of the people interested in an EV for their personal driving habits and not out of some belief that they're saving the world, it's not worth getting an EV unless you drive it a lot. So our decision to replace my wife's old used ICE crossover with an EV crossover makes more sense because we've put 26K miles on it the first year we've owned it (a substantial amount of gas savings and oil change savings). If we were driving only about 5K miles per year it wouldn't be worth considering.

Rainbows and gold glitter!

No worries. G.m. and fiat/Chrysler are going ev as well. 🤔

Car - man - electric, should have stuck to gas instead of trying to be sexy during a Tranny Tyranny sexual revolution.
It’s come a long way since 1964-1/2.
