Do aliens exist? (The non-human type)
spectator (UK) ^ | Sean Thomas

[T]he Pentagon, and Washington in general, is really keen on talking about UFOs. Here’s a list of senior DC people who’ve been making strange remarks about UFOs/UAPs (in the sense, at the very least, that something inexplicable is haunting our planet).

John Brennan, head of the CIA under Obama, in 2021: “Some of the phenomena we’re going to be seeing continues to be unexplained and might, in fact… something that we don’t yet understand, and could involve some type of activity that some might say constitute a different form of life.”

John Ratcliffe, Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence, also in 2021: “There are a lot more sightings than have been made public. Some of those have been declassified. And when we talk about sightings, we are talking about objects that have seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain. Movements that are hard to replicate that we don’t have the technology for. Or traveling at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom.”

Perhaps the most striking intervention came from Barack Obama on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2021. In the middle of the usual banter about “little green men,” Obama suddenly stopped smiling and said: “What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that… there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”

[...]

And now, in the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen a wild new development: the whistleblower David Grusch. An experienced, clever, articulate and highly respected American intelligence officer, with a glittering résumé, at one point seconded to a new unit “studying UAPs,” Grusch recently resigned so he could come out (under the protection of new UFO whistleblower legislation) and make the most extraordinary claims. Claims that he has made under oath to Congress, with the support of colleagues.

Here are just a few of them. The US military is in possession of crashed “alien” craft (notably Grusch does not use the term “extraterrestrial”; he says “non-human intelligence: NHI”). These NHI craft — or their “pilots” — have, in the past, injured and even killed humans. At least one craft is in private possession. The bodies of pilots have also been retrieved.

And there’s more. The NHIs — the aliens — may not be from beyond the solar system, but existing in a parallel dimension to ours, right here. Their craft seem to have the ability to bend space and time: they appear bigger on the outside than inside (yes, like the Tardis). Investigators who go inside them have suffered bizarre ill-effects. Despite this, the US government is in a kind of agreement with some of the alien NHIs.

Distraction from Biden corruption.

cgbg: "Human anecdotes from history and the present are data that get my attention."

Anecdotes are considered the least reliable form of information, especially when compared to empirical evidence or when the anecdote is used to substantiate a desired conclusion (this is called confirmation bias, one of the cognitive biases).

“Anecdotes are considered the least reliable form of information”

Not by me.

I consider academic studies and analysis the least reliable form of information.

They are driven by a desire for money and status.

Anecdotes are in a majority of cases normal people speaking their truth.

I want to expand on my comment on anecdotes with a bit of historical perspective.

During the Roman Empire the upper classes and the academics all had a good laugh when the slaves and servants were overheard talking about this guy who performed miracles and was raised from the dead.

Every “respectable” Roman knew this was crazy talk....

Intellectual arrogance is a byproduct of late Empire decadence. Academics and their supporters go for status seeking conventional thinking—rather than risk taking and looking at data even if it opposes “conventional wisdom”.

7. It’s all a distraction so we don’t talk about Biden’s troubles.

That's not logical.

If that were the case, the source of this information would somehow be related to Biden or his government. But that's not the source.

The source is so-called whistleblowers who are being resisted, threatened, and stigmatized by the Deep State/government/Pentagon.

Excellent points.

One thing that amazes me right here on FR is how people approach this mystery with a predetermined bias (they're not just skeptics, but determined debunkers).

They have their minds made up before they ever look at any evidence (even circumstantial evidence).

If people ran businesses that way, I would look into a career in bankruptcy law.;-)

Sometimes whistleblowers are actually authorized leakers and the threats of the higher-ups are just for show. Nowadays, one can’t be sure.

But point taken. Maybe the US and the Chinese (and the Russians and Musk and Bezos) have technologies that they haven’t revealed yet. There’s a very slim chance that an alien civilization has sent spacecraft here, and an even slimmer one that they’ve come in person, rather than just sent uncrewed probes.

Absolute right. That needs to be kept in mind.

As to alien civilizations, I also agree.

I'm not sure what is going on and, as you suggest, am keeping a critical eye on all that is coming out.

If the universe is estimated to be 13 billion years old with over 200 billion galaxies, it's entirely possible that there may be civilizations out there that are thousands of years more advanced than us.

Technologically, look how far and advanced we have come in just the past 100 years and one can only imagine what we will discover in the next 100 years.

Anyway, I believe that what we are witnessing are objects from either another planet or another dimension.......I'm leaning on another dimension.

cgbg: "I want to expand on my comment on anecdotes with a bit of historical perspective."

It's a little far-fetched for you to go back to the Roman Empire's upper classes in attempting to attack the modern scientific method, which wouldn't be developed for many centuries after the Roman Empire had ended).

Your devotion to anti-scientific alternatives seems contradictory to the fact that you are expressing such devotion using a system of communication, consisting of hardware and software that is based on the very discoveries and findings made using the scientific method. While the scientific method is often used to develop existing knowledge, it is also used to expose erroneous or limited ideas, such as with discoveries in radioactivity, astronomy, quantum mechanics, and solid-state electronics.

For example, when you use your cell phone's GPS capability to direct you to a destination, you are relying on satellite timing signals based on the science of quantum physics, not on anecdotes from Roman slaves and servants.

There are many great benefits of technology and we stand on the shoulders of giants who did the heavy lifting.

However, most of academia is a wasteland of prejudice, intolerance and petty status seeking.

When you add government grants and other funding to the mix “science” gets ugly in a hurry.

I'm with you about "another dimension." As this thing develops, the "another dimension" possibility seems to be leading the pack.

And, given all that is coming out from so many directions, we may not be able to say exactly "what" is going on...but "something" is definitely happening.

I heard a guy on a podcast this week put it nicely:

"Disclosure is occurring right now. But no one—including those who are disclosing it—are quite sure what is being disclosed."

I'm with you about "another dimension."

I've never given too much thought about that until I started watching "The Secret of Skin Walker Ranch".

That's what opened my mind to the possibility of these UAP's coming from not another planet but rather a dimension. A dimension where their civilization is literally thousands or more years in advanced of ours where they have discovered not only another dimension, ours, but the means to travel interdimensionaly.

While it sounds crazy, in reality, it is more feasible than to believe that these crafts come from planets who knows how many light years away.......

I wish there were a category here dedicated to the real discussion of UAP’s and such, unencumbered by the influx of the typical mockers......

I wonder if the mods would permit a "caucus" type thread (as used on some of the religion threads).

BTW, Jacques Vallee and Allan Hynek started suggesting the "extradimensional" idea back in the 1970's IIRC. It makes a lot of sense.

That's what Eric Weinstein says about physics and science today in universities.

Here's what BingChatGPT says about this:

According to some of his statements, Weinstein is critical of the current state of physics in universities. He believes that there is a lack of innovation and creativity in the field, and that the academic system is biased against new ideas and outsiders. He has also accused some physicists of being dishonest or incompetent in their evaluation of his theory. He thinks that physics needs a paradigm shift and a more open-minded approach to explore alternative possibilities.

Well, what do you think? Can we get our own forum as the Religion and Q supporters have?
