So, I very seldom drink coca cola (or even soda) anymore but my two brothers drink it alot. Anyway, they mentioned the other day that the coca cola is going flat a lot sooner than it used to. Well, I just cracked one open and drank half of it then let it sit for about 30 minutes before deciding to finish it off. Yep, absolutely flat. Never before has coca cola gotten flat this quick. I swear it seems like they've cut back on the carbonation. Anyone else that drinks coca cola notice this?

I’m sure the liberals will blame climate change for this.
Are they cutting back on CO2 emissions? 🤪
Only made from real sugar in glass bottles shipped in from Mexico.
Put it back in the refer even after opened. It will stay carbonated for a longer time. I am not a chemist but keeping it cold will keep the CO2 in solution longer. At least that is my assessment.
I mix my coke with bourbon, never noticed it going flat...
I gave it up for Woke
If not climate chnge, then Donald, the orange man, Trump.
Are you referring to Coca ColaTM - the actual brand (which should always be capitalized)?
Or to generic cola?
In any event, since Coca Cola's corporate management demanded that its employees try to be "less White," I have been boycotting it - so I don't care if it is getting flatter faster.
Regards,
here’s a tip. Don’t drink CC out of cans. Only bottles. Preferably mexican coke.
Look into what they line CC cans with.
Maybe it is the surface it is sitting on?
If I open a coke and leave it on a marble counter top, it will stay fizzie for hours.
If I put it in a cup hold on my tractor it’ll be flat in 15 minutes.
On the top of a running bar fridge, it’ll last half an hour to 45 minutes before going flat.
One of the answers on a Coke page:
Since my post, I’ve been reading that they are experiencing CO2 shortages and that the soft drink and beer companies are using less CO2 on purpose. That could be the problem. Something about it being a byproduct of ethanol and less demand during the pandemic, they slowed production. So now it’s scarce and more expensive. Probably why prices have doubled.
Its mighty refreshing on ice
Here’s strange one...
As a kid I lived on Coke. Then I got married and gained weight so I tried to lose weight by not drinking soft drinks. Didn’t work. In the meantime my wife who I lived with for 40 years was basically addicted to Coke but I wouldn’t touch the stuff.
Now that I’m not living with my wife, I’ve started up on Coke again and I enjoy it.
I keep it fizzy by only buying the the plastic bottles with the screw on/off top. As soon as I pour it, I screw the top back on and put it back in the fridge. Fizz stays for at least a couple of days.
First the coca. Then the cane sugar. Now the carbonization. All that’s left is water, corn syrup, cola, and caffiend. Those damp cabbages...
Amen.
Smart!
