Garth Brooks has defended his decision to sell Bud Light in his Nashville bar after some fans said they would no longer listen to his music.
The country music legend, 61, acknowledged his plans to stock the beer, which has been boycotted over a tie-up with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney, caused 'quite a little bit of a stir'.
But Brooks repeated his commitment to 'inclusiveness' and added that if the beer doesn't sell, he'll take 'action'.
The controversy unfolded last Wednesday when Brooks told Billboard his Nashville bar, Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk, will sell 'every brand of beer'. He also said 'if you're an a**hole, there are plenty of other places' to drink.
Some fans took issue with the decision and even said they'd boycott his music.
Brooks addressed the controversy at the opening of his Inside Studio G show on Monday night.
'Let's address two things on it,' he said. 'One is diversity, inclusiveness. That's me, it's always been me. We got the same kind of thing on We Shall Be Free, people wanted to burn our stuff. I get it, everybody has got their opinions.'
He was referencing his 1992 track We Shall Be Free, which some country radio stations refused to play at the time because of its progressive themes. The song included the lines 'when we're free to love anyone we choose... then we shall be free'.
Brooks added: 'Inclusiveness is always going to be me. I think diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are coming. So I love diversity, all included, all are welcome.
'I understand that might not be other people's opinions, but that's okay, man. They have their opinions, they have their beliefs, I have mine.

I won't say it but I'm thinking it.

Hey, $20 bux is $20 bux right?
Just taking advantage of what is probably his best known song title.
Can’t ya just see the line-dancing homos?
I know. I won’t listen to any of his songs now. He’s dead to me.
garth must have a harvard mba
calling your customers assh*les
seems to be marketing 101
hey garth
when is the garth/dylan duet?
if you dont
youre a transphobe
and what is this pride month nonsense
and a short month only 30 days
the wokesters should be pushing the homo/trans agenda 24/7 all year long
or they are homo/transphobes
In other words, there are many, many places to go other than his joint. People could change his mind pretty quickly by simply not darkening his doorstep, if only they would put aside their obsession with celebrity.
It’s interesting that so many articles are being written about Brooks. Is the news media trying to phase people out of their Bud Light boycott? Who is AB InBev paying?
Sounds like a gay bar.
Should change the name of the bar to “Steers and Queers”.
He should have said: “We’ll stock what sells.”
Instead, he called all of us who don’t want our children sexualized in Kindergarten assholes.
Interesting choice. Apparently he never had that “Son, don’t ever shit where you eat” talk with his father.
🎼There’s a tear in my beer,
And a queer on my rear...
I used to hate country music when Garth was popular because I thought it was all awful like his music (and people inspired by him) it wasn’t until I heard actual older country music that I grew to appreciate the genre .
I’m up in Boston so it’s not like we got much of that music up here on the radio
Mr. Brooks you are free to do whatever you want with your business and people are also free to choose which businesses to patronize. Good luck.....
He should have been dead to you already. He’s a wife cheating fraud. He canceled on Trump the day before the inauguration leaving them to scramble. Then he discouraged anyone from stepping in. Yet there he was with his creepy smirk performing at Traitor Joe’s.
If Garth Brooks really believes in diversity and inclusiveness, he should go on tour dressed like Dolly Parton. That would encourage more trannys to embrace country music.
“I’m guessing his bar is on South Broadway, a VERY bar-centric location with tons of bars that feature tons of bands.”
And it’s a gay bar at that.
That was my first thought as well. Seems InBev is enlisting liberal bar owners to try and sway actual public opinion.
All this will do is embolden the cause. The only thing good about Garth Brooks is that his wife is talented, and used to be attractive before she backed into an air hose apparently.
