I voted for Trump twice, I despise him, and there’s a lot of Republicans just like me.
She learned this the hard way.
She has a lot more humility than I thought she had when I see her giving DJT some (strike that — a LOT of) respect.
DeSantis comes across like the 2024 version of Cruz is 2016. A politician with no vision for America.
And OBTW, Megan Kelly and her cronies don’t get it either.
We are lovers of this wonderful country of ours called America. WE LOVE TRUMP because TRUMP LOVES AMERICA.
We love America because the Constitution, the Supreme Law of the Land, protects our God-given rights to life, liberty, and free pursuits. WE LOVE FREEDOM. WHO DOESN’T? Who doesn’t love freedom from government oppression and coercion? (Answer, apparently the delusional Left doesn’t.)
Also, apparently the RINO’s and GOPe don’t get that either.
Since I like both Trump and DeSantis, and I think either one would do a great job in cleaning up the mess created by the current disaster in the WH, my question is, “Who has the best chance of winning in 2024”? Trump is loved by his base, but is his base enough to get him the win?
And DeSantis has been a great governor and he’s only 44. He’s stood up to the looney left in a way no other governor has.
If DeSantis runs against Biden, the differences in age will be striking. Not so much with President Trump as he will by 78 at the time of the election.
Trump made some terrible appointments which backfired on him and he pushed the Covid vax. OTOH, he did some great things: defeating ISIS, the Abraham Accords, a secure border, a great economy (until Covid hit).
Either way, I’ll be voting for whomever gets the nomination.
So the question is...as the convention ends, and if DeSantis only takes out-right wins in Utah, California, Oregon, Hawaii and Washington (not even taking more than 30-percent of the FL vote)....will you settle upon Trump or go to Biden/Harris?
I don’t love Trump. I’m not into cults.
But I do love the whole MAGA concept. So for me the question is who is the most-MAGA, most-electable candidate out there?
I must consider both things. And so far, I have no clear answer.
I lived in Manhattan in the 70’s and 80’s. Trump was a local notable at the time.
I hated him.
But in the 90’s I came to respect him because he survived the real estate collapse of the early 90’s. His net worth went negative and he was up against it with his creditors. But he manned up against it all, survived and then went on to have greater successes. He built a whole skyline on the west side of manhattan.
Knowing something about Manhattan—I thought these were herclean feats. As amazing as Musk.
I'd bet Trump has more energy than Biden and Desantis combined...
And better presidential experience than both combined.
And better life experience in the real world than both combined.
...Both Biden and Desantis have spent their adult lives sucking the public teat.
The sudden glowing respect for Megan Kelly by only-Trumpers is quite remarkable.
“I voted for Trump twice, I despise him”
The problem is while I despise some attributes of Trump, he is so much better than any of the alternatives. He does fight back and he kept his word more than the typical GOP politician. I really despise Bush, Romney, McCain, Kemp, Kasich, and Ryan much more. I think a lot of Republicans agree with me.
His voters probably do love him…but I don’t think there will be many of them.
I notice he’s still refusing to debate anybody and is going to go with the Biden technique of few - and highly managed - public appearances where he never has to state a policy or give anybody any reason to vote for him except that he’s Trump.
But we’re in crucial times now, and I don’t think most voters will be willing to throw away their vote being a tool to stroke his ego.
What’s love got to do with it?
Affection for a person or a personality should not affect one’s political choices.
I do love what remains of this once Free Republic.
So does Trump who maybe an egocentric, but who puts America First.
My support of Trump over Ron is quite simple.
Trump is an America First nationalist.
Ron is a me first globalist.
And they all love him just because he acted in their interest for once! The nerve of that guy!!!
DeSantis as Trump’s running mate would save the country for 12 years. Doesn’t mean he has to take the vp office once won.
I love Donald Trump - I wouldn’t want to be married to him, probably wouldn’t want to work for him but I have huge admiration for his vision, guts, and what is apparently a selfless mission to save his beloved United States. I actually think it’s his ego driving him - he can’t stand to see HIS country being destroyed by thieves and idiots.
In the case of RDS I’m really disappointed since I admired his work in Florida but he is funded big time by the globalists and has fallen into their trap. And then compared to DJT there is no way he has the experience to negotiate on the world stage the way Trump does. RDS had a recent world tour that was a complete flop - no one was impressed. I think his ambition overcame his judgement - he should have waited but he couldn’t resist the globalists.
DJT is a unique person in the world of politics and I will write him in if I have to.

I’d say your inner FBI is showing but who knows, you might working with them..
Your comments are spot on!
I wish Fred Thompson had run a stronger campaign in 2008.
President Donald John Trump has all the right enemies.
Governor Ronald Herbert Walker DeSantis has all the wrong friends.
