A farmer, 72, fell into a crocodile enclosure in the Cambodian city of Siem Reap Luan Nam was pulled in when one of the reptiles pulled on the stick he was using
A 72-year-old farmer was killed by 'about 40 crocodiles' this morning after falling into their enclosure on the family's reptile farm.
Luan Nam was trying to move a crocodile out of its cage in Cambodia where it had laid eggs when it grabbed the stick he was using as a goad and pulled him in.
A group of reptiles swarmed him, tearing his body to pieces and leaving the enclosure in Siem Reap awash with blood.
The body was pictured, recovered, after the incident, but police said the man's arm was torn off and swallowed by the crocodiles.
Farmers in Cambodia often breed and sell crocodiles to buyers in China, Thailand and Vietnam where their skin can be made into leather and other products.
Mey Savry, police chief of Siem Reap commune, told AFP: 'While he was chasing a crocodile out of an egg-laying cage, the crocodile attacked the stick, causing him to fall into the enclosure.'
'Then other crocodiles pounced, attacking him until he was dead,' he said.
He added that the remains of the man's body were covered with bite marks.
Images after the attack showed the huge beasts still paddling in the pool after the body was recovered.

I hate when that happens.
What a way to go. When the croc pulled on his stick he should have let go. PHOTOS within.
Some people die doing what they love. Others don’t.
ROFLMAO
Are you sure it was FORTY?
72 years only to be ripped apart by dinosaurs. RIP.
How pathetic the responses at this site is.
I'm thinking the first one... maybe two, killed him and the rest piled on looking for their piece of the pie...

Could have let go of the stick lots of them out there
He was very likely off balance when the croc grabbed the stick.

by something as simple as wild dogs.”

Looking at the narrow walkways and lack of any sort of railing a quick jerk would have toppled him straight into the enclosure. He would not have had time to let go.
OSHA will probably issue a Form 7 over this.
Bet that left a mark!!!
I love African wildlife videos and it’s not unusual to see one where a wildebeest was captured by crocs while crossing a river. The only thing I’ve ever seen that’s uglier is when wild dogs capture something. Two dozen of them will eat the creature alive...and 5 minutes later all you see is a skeleton.
