Bud Light sales falling by much as 20% A WEEK could be the 'new normal' after Dylan Mulvaney debacle 'unless something drastic changes', industry analyst warns - as cases lie untouched and unsold in Florida CVS

Bud Light's sales plummeting by as much as 20 percent week-on-week could become the 'new norm' after the company's disastrous Dylan Mulvaney debacle.

Industry analysts have warned that unless something drastic changes, the negative volume trends will continue into the summer months, as a result of the beer brand's partnership with the transgender influencer.

For the week ending May 6, in-store sales of Bud Light across the US were down 23.6 percent compared to the year before. And the week before that, ending April 29, sales dropped by 23.3 percent.

This follows declines in sales for the week ending April 22, which were at 21.4 percent. And seven days earlier, the dip was 17 percent, according to NielsenIQ data provided to Dailymail.com by Bump Williams Consultancy.

Dylan Mulvaney, 26, posted her first collaboration with Bud Light on April 1.

The data - showing that US sales are dropping by as much as 20 percent each week - has since been described by industry experts as 'bad.'

Bump Williams from Bump Williams Consultancy told DailyMail.com: 'I don’t think the declines in sales/volume will get any worse, but I do think their negative volume trends will continue.'

He said that sales dipping by 20 percent seems to be the new 'norm' for Bud Light.

But he added that experts are waiting to see what will happen to sales over Memorial Day and summer selling season to assess if the damage will continue.

Williams, who specializes in the alcohol industry, told the St Louis Business Journal: 'This seems to be where the brand's weekly declines have started to settle, falling in that -20% range over the past few week.

'I wonder if this is going to be the 'floor' for expected Bud Light declines moving forward unless something drastic changes.'

Budweiser has been irrecoverably ruined, by their own hand job. It will only get worse.

-20% a week, for 5 weeks, will only leave them with 1/3 of the sales.

Love their strategy - “wait and see if things get better on their own”.

What they should have done is obvious - fire everyone involved in the idiot campaign and publicly renounce the deal with the trannie.

They missed that chance weeks ago and the hemorrhage of money will continue.

Must not be all that tough to get a business degree these days.

A-B could always just give away free cases at those cross-dressers-reading-to-toddlers events that are so popular at libraries these days.

They will be bankrupt by November

It will LOL!

KARMA is a double bladed bitch with a bad attitude. I am loving this Schadenfreude. "Schadenfreude" in German means enjoying the pain of one you do not like.

PS
If you want a light beer that is descent, I highly recommend Yuengling. I am an IPA man but on a hot summer day, a glass of Yuengling is nice.

Are they consistently losing 20-plus percent as compared to one year ago, which I think is the case, or do they keep losing 20 percent each week? This article seems to conflate the two, and they’re very different things.

” ‘I don’t think the declines in sales/volume will get any worse,...”

I don’t know about that. Memorial Day is coming up. That’s a time that many friends and family gather together, bbq, drink beer, and present a toast to their friends and family members, and all others who gave their lives for our nation and the freedoms it (formerly) upholds. I do not think Bud Light will be in many coolers on that day or weekend of remembrance.

The decline in YOY sales for that weekend will probably be closer to the 30% range than the approx 20% drop in sales seen over the previous five weeks.

Beau sponsors a lot of fundraisers for his various hunt clubs.

He was getting things ready for the most recent one and had three 30-packs of Bud Light to sell, which were in our basement fridge and were left over for another fundraiser last summer.

He’s not always up on the ‘current things the kids are talking about’ but I told him, I’ll bet you $50 you won’t sell a SINGLE can of Bud Light to your ‘manly man hunting crowd’ this weekend.

Those boys did me proud - and I am $50 richer, LOL!

In June they will launch a marketing plan that says if you don’t drink Anhauser Bush beer, you’re a right wing extremist homophobe, and will be getting a visit from the FBI. Most likely between 2:00AM and 6:00AM. They will kill your dog and shoot any grandpa while swearing cuss words at your ty-wrapped wristed children of yet to be state sanctioned gender?

My guess is that InBev will use this mess to finally break and takeover the Distribution network. They wanted to eliminate it when they bought AHB in 2008 but the distributor network was too strong, but they did end up getting some of the bigger ones to buy out smaller ones. Now with the mess they created they may use this to finally take total control of the network to cut costs and improve earnings.

This will be worth watching over the next year to see what happens. Smaller distributors will not be able to weather that kind of change as to sales and a lot of distributors are going to hurt and some looking for a way out.

If they were smart they would announce they are shutting down Bud Light. Then open another brand with a completely different look. Fire the idiots who approved this and apologize to their former consumers.
