In this video Scotty talks about how expensive EVs are to maintain, and how quickly they lose value once they are driven off the dealer’s lot.
Huh ?
You know he and his fellow travelers are just using the EV as a tool to eliminate private vehicle ownership, right?
except for the battery cost, EV maintenance costs are significantly lower
“Well other than that Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?”
Thanks for the reminder.....will check my battery fan filter tomorrow morning.
It’s been done by some youtubers. I wouldn’t recommend the conversion.
Funny, I’ve just been running into this man when looking up car stuff on YT.
Yes, but it's almost impossible to extinguish.
As a mechanic for 34 years
Scotty.. well..
I’d fire him with in the first few hours.
The first EV was made in 1832.
At what point do they graduate from their early stages?
Prius has to be the misbegotten son Citroen. It’s obvious.
The main problem with EVs is battery technology.
I think improvements are likely.
“Most major Li-ion cell manufacturer x-ray every single cell as part of automated quality control. Software examines anomalies such as bent tabs or crushed jelly rolls. This is the reason why Li-ion batteries are so safe today, but such careful manufacturing practices may only be offered with recognized brands.”

The best thing I can say about Scotty Kilmer is he is a great manipulator of the YouTube algorithms. Click bait headlines, daily videos to keep the clicks coming and vacuous content. I watched him for a little while until I realized he was repeating himself so much I couldn’t tell one video from the next.
I like to watch mechanic videos and Kilmer is a joke compared to the real mechanics.
love Scotty.
I read where people were opening up the battery packs and measuring each of the individual cells and only replacing the bad ones. It sounds like a few bad ones can be replaced for relatively low cost and stretch the battery’s life.
I unsubscribed from his youtube channel because of his clickbait titles.
Yes. So, I guess Newsom is not worth talking to.
For many years I converted an "over the hill" Windows box to Linux and squeezed another 5 years of life out of it. Late last Summer that strategy was derailed by Linux vendors insisting on a UEFI ONLY boot. No more support of the classic BIOS boot with a simple partition. I gutted the box and replaced power supply, motherboard, CPU, RAM and added NVME disk. Problem solved. A good Linux box with 16 GB RAM. Excellent support for my ham radio activities. The stuff I removed? Perhaps a recycler can do something with the parts.
I can’t stand to watch Scotty Kilmer at all. He’s like the Cliff Notes version of a Popular Mechanics magazine.
