In this video Scotty talks about how expensive EVs are to maintain, and how quickly they lose value once they are driven off the dealer’s lot.
Sometimes I wonder how he managed to stay on YouTube for so long. His honesty must really aggravate the big boys.
Used ones better be a buck. First order of business - a new $20k battery, if available.
I have seen his videos before. He has a quite knowledgeable.
Was thinking this weekend about the seeming downward trend in automobile durability, and concluded that the electrics are the ultimate in planned obsolescence, designed to be recycled once the batteries give up the ghost.
Not sure how big an if this is. But, if the NBD batteries pan out all current EVs will be worthless as will ICE. The company making them is already making them for long life low voltage applications. The need to get the power output higher
I love his take on EV’S. Use them for yard art!
I remember learning about planned obsolescence from Mad Magazine. I was horrified.
Toyota hybrids, like Priuses, if they can fit into your lifestyle/driving needs, can be a good solution. Its also a car you can as an amateur, easily change out the battery pack on your own and make an old prius new, without breaking the bank.

Maybe he can meet Newsom and talk sense in to him?
EVs are in their early stages, so pain is inevitable. My hope is that we discover and harness a form of engery different and better than either E or IC.
If if if. If there was actually any interest in making ICE-equivalent electric vehicles, there’d be a industry standards group working out a hot-swappable battery pack that could be lifted out and new one dropped in at the equivalent of gas stations, kind of like propane tanks now. (bla bla math for age of new vs old battery, etc.) In this way people could get from A to B with about the same delay as filling up. Said station could charge batteries by whatever means without as much worry about charge rate.
Then battery tech could improve and since the format would be standard, no problem. Recycling is then also relatively eased by having batteries accrete at stations.
However that’s not what WEF and the reset crowd want. They want limited travel, utter control of when and where you go, and inability to escape to the rest of the planet outside your “15-minute” gulag.
Hyperbole in titles is a plague in internet. He’s not saying anything that hasn’t been said a thousand times before by a thousand different people. It’s just that the morons who vote democrat or believe the climate change lie do t pay attention to the facts.
“This Just Killed the Future of Electric Cars”
Let’s just forego the wake or visitation services, cremate the EVs, and move on with our lives (preferably in ICE vehicles).
No flowers or sympathy cards requested.
not a bug
a feature
its all part of the plan to force
everyone onto the bus/train
banning gas cars is about making public transportation
the only affordable option
elites exempt of course
they promise the jetsons
you get the flintstones
Truth be told, they don’t want us hoy-poloy to have cars at all. They want to herd us all onto public transit. The EV con is all part of the scheme.
My hope is the Dims quit messing up our access to our natural energy sources. IMHO it's not as much an ICE vs EV or oil vs power argument. It's an issue of the Dims getting in the way with whatever works. If EV's worked as well for everyone as ours does for my wife and me, I promise you the Dims would figure out a reason to limit our ability to charge them or make it too expensive to charge them, just like they make gas too expensive to drive ICE cars a lot.
Look at natural gas. It wasn't too long ago (Obama years) that the Dims were pushing through government fiat to force power companies to close coal plants and replace them with "clean burning" natural gas fueled plants. Now those same Dims are trying to ban natural gas and make natural gas harder to drill for (lowering supply and raising prices). That's an example that there's never any pleasing the Dims, so don't bother trying.
Love his videos. He knows what he’s talking about. And he’s so wired & fired up, it’s hilarious.
Prius is one of the ugliest cars ever made.
That's exactly what the push for EVs is about, and that's all that it's about. And if EVs don't pan out? So much the better, as far as the statist control freaks are concerned.
The ignorance of some of the comments already on this thread (presumably from those who fancy themselves gearheads or techno-geeks or whatever) is pretty appalling. The "climate agenda" has nothing whatsoever to do with environmental protection or even "climate" itself. The EV push has everything to do with the freedom of mobility, freedom to travel, etc. How we are to live.
And here we have so-called conservatives sitting around, musing about the ins and outs of battery technology. Sheesh.
