A Marine veteran took matters into his own hands after an unhinged homeless man boarded a Subway train and entered into an aggressive tirade, putting the vagrant into a chokehold that reportedly led to his death.
According to witness and freelance journalist Juan Alberto Vazquez, the man – identified as 30-year-old Jordan Neely – boarded the train and began screaming at passengers. “He started screaming in an aggressive manner. He said he had no food, he had no drink, that he was tired and doesn’t care if he goes to jail. He started screaming all these things, took off his jacket, a black jacket that he had, and threw it on the ground,” Vazquez told the New York Post.
Neely’s intimidating actions prompted an unnamed 24-year-old Marine veteran to spring into action, stepping up behind Neely and putting him into a chokehold, Vazquez continued, adding that the veteran held Neely on the ground in the hold for about 15 minutes.
“He moved his arms but he couldn’t express anything,” Vazquez explained to the New York Post of Neely. “All he could do was move arms. Then suddenly he just stopped moving,” Vasquez stated, explaining, “He was out of strength.” By the time the train was stopped and authorities called, Neely had lost consciousness. Though EMS officials attempted to revive the homeless man, he was pronounced dead.
“None of us who were there thought he was in danger of dying,” Vasquez said. “We thought he just passed out or ran out of air.”
While Vazquez told the outlet he was grateful that the Marine vet had jumped in to help, the fatal outcome had him feeling torn, stating that perhaps more moderation could have been used. “This would never have happened if the police had shown up within five minutes,” he added. “Then we’d be talking about a true hero. It’s complicated.”
\ The 24-year-old Marine was taken into custody and later released without charges, pending the results of an investigation and autopsy report.
See CDC and safe vaccine
I don’t care either. And let’s see what the autopsy reveals. The deceased may have a laundry list of health problems and there could be drugs involved (ya think?). Second degree manslaughter at worse ….. and probation.
Thank you for your service and thank you for removing this fecal material in semi human form.
If you are headed Uptown on the F Train, sometimes it is cheaper to take a cab.
Subdue an aggressor with a choke hold for 30 seconds they’ll be OK, choke them out for 15 minutes = No Bueno.
No. This is Noo Yawk Shitty. Look what they’re doing to Donald Trump ...
If they go for anything, it will be Murder.
This is anarcho-tyranny at its finest. Create a problem of violence and social chaos, then persecute the people who try to rectify it.
Meanwhile ... I support any Citizen who takes out the trash.
Interesting that the media so quickly identify one the combatants as a Marine but rarely identify a perpetrator as an Illegal alien, muslim or black when they’re accused of a crime.
Watch for family of the deceased to pop out of the woodwork with a lawyer.
They are likely rehearsing the learned skill of “crying” on cue once the CNN reporter begins asking questions about the dead guys childhood and favorite foods.
And by the time he displays the weapon and someone responds, someone may have died.
The Marine did not know if he was armed or not, but your point kind of defeats your argument. The chokehold is designed to INCAPACITATE someone, not to kill him. If he died as a result, I doubt that was the Marine's intent.
Besides, the way the article was written is typical of how the MSM paints the perps as victims. More needs to come out about this situation but to count on accurate reporting out of the MSM, when it involves a white guy, a Marine, no less, and a dead black vagrant, I'll wait.
Already done, they used PTSD, all Veterans are American Citizen's "Worst Enemy", and are on The List.
Give that marine a monetary medal
You're NOT supposed to notice that.
Sure. If you’re nuts stay on your meds
Was this a fully auto or semi auto Marine?? Might have to ban them, :/
“The chokehold is designed to INCAPACITATE someone, not to kill him.”
It can be used for both. Maybe the marine was only taught the latter version.
In the context of a NYC subway, where it is documented homeless mentally ill persons have pushed people in front of trains, gone on stabbing sprees, etc, if this was put before me as a juror in a court I would not convict. This is a direct consequence of big city DAs not prosecuting crimes and releasing criminals immediately causing everyone to be unsafe.
Subduing this guy in this context was reasonable rather than wait for him to further work himself up and potentially (because future acts are not known) begin stabbing people. Then it is too late and innocents are hurt or killed. Since the police, DA, and city government want these mentally ill people terrorizing the population, this is an unfortunate result. A mentally ill guy goes off on a subway, people should feel threatened for their lives.
He wasn't in danger, he just ran out of air.
Good Lord.
Yeah— just think, someone could have given the looney a Snickers bar.
Just like the UPS delivery guys who throw them to the signage carrying homeless “Hungry. Need Food. 3.98 for a cup of coffee” (oops MD 20-20 hip bottle).
You have demonstrated that you have no idea how the law actually works. Which is fine, but I’m not going to waste my time talking if you think everyone charged in the death of another person has to have intent. And your other point that you can kill someone because they may or may not be armed is really strange. You’re basically saying that if someone starts yelling nonsense in public someone can put then in a deadly chokehold for 15 minutes until they die simply because they MIGHT be armed. Very strange.
