This may have been excessive.
Homeless guy didn’t actually touch or threaten anyone, and the guy kept him in a chokehold for 15 minutes?
I’m thinking he better get a real good lawyer.
He did not inrend to kill.
He did not inrend to kill.
He subdued some homeless azzhole who was making an azz out of himself in a threatening manor on the subway.
The azz died later.. good riddance. Need more folks stepping up to end this BS.
There are many instances where people who have no intention of killing are charged in the death of someone.
So what you’re saying is, someone who is acting erratically in public can be killed without consequence?
This is how bad NYC has become. Vagrants terrorizing the working folks...police on the sidelines. This is the fruit of all the progressives labor.
I can’t breathe.
Then again....someone can aim a gun at someone, pull the trigger, kill the target and injure a second person...and be totally cleared of any crime.
No. The unhinged guy took his chances by threatening everyone. It’s called *consequences*. HE could have been then one to kill others.
It just happened to be his turn this time. Don’t do stupid things like threaten others if you don’t want payback.
Prayers up.
“This may have been excessive.”
That hold has a lot of names, one being a real naked choke. If synched in it is designed to start the first stages of unconsciousness in a few seconds and kept on for more than a couple of minutes will cause brain damage.
It’s taught in most military combatives and used like this it is deadly. I have no idea why he left it on for so long as the receiver was most likely out after about 15 seconds at best. Choke holds come from Kodocan Judo and were perfected and employed in Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in the 1990’s starting the fad of use by civilians.

I. Don't. Care.
We the People need to protect each other on the street and in the courtroom.
This Marine had better get to a nation that has no extradition to the US, quickly.
There is no such thing as "Fair" here, particularly New York.
This is not correct. The statements printed in this article were not threats. Unless you know of other statements made by this person during his tirade, yelling that you have no food and don't want to go back to jail are not statements that would put someone in reasonable fear for their safety.
Look, I'm NOT sorry this guy is dead. If he displayed a weapon or began to physically assault someone on the train then I would agree with the steps taken by the Marine. But the way this article is written, the vagrant did nothing that deserved a rear naked chokehold, which is a move taught in the military to incapacitate someone who is trying to kill you.
A Marine vet, who took matters into his own hands.
Watch for the democrats to seek to categorize marine vets as deadly weapons, and ban them from being in the general population. ;)
