This is not correct. The statements printed in this article were not threats. Unless you know of other statements made by this person during his tirade, yelling that you have no food and don't want to go back to jail are not statements that would put someone in reasonable fear for their safety.
Look, I'm NOT sorry this guy is dead. If he displayed a weapon or began to physically assault someone on the train then I would agree with the steps taken by the Marine. But the way this article is written, the vagrant did nothing that deserved a rear naked chokehold, which is a move taught in the military to incapacitate someone who is trying to kill you.
And by the time he displays the weapon and someone responds, someone may have died.
The Marine did not know if he was armed or not, but your point kind of defeats your argument. The chokehold is designed to INCAPACITATE someone, not to kill him. If he died as a result, I doubt that was the Marine's intent.
Besides, the way the article was written is typical of how the MSM paints the perps as victims. More needs to come out about this situation but to count on accurate reporting out of the MSM, when it involves a white guy, a Marine, no less, and a dead black vagrant, I'll wait.
Yeah— just think, someone could have given the looney a Snickers bar.
Just like the UPS delivery guys who throw them to the signage carrying homeless “Hungry. Need Food. 3.98 for a cup of coffee” (oops MD 20-20 hip bottle).
” Unless you know of other statements made by this person during his tirade, yelling that you have no food and don’t want to go back to jail are not statements that would put someone in reasonable fear for their safety.”
Yeah sure Bill. And if your mom woulda been 80 and in that car seated closest, you wouldn’t think she was reasonable to fear for her safety?
And tell us more about military training. You sound like an expert.
Actually, from the article, he was screaming he didn’t care if he goes to jail.
