Windows 10 22H2 will be the final version of the operating system, Microsoft said in a blog post on Thursday. Moving forward, all editions of Windows 10 will be supported with monthly security updates until October 14th, 2025, when Microsoft will end support. (Some releases on the Long-Term Servicing Channel, or LTSC, will get updates past that end of support date.)
Microsoft is encouraging users to now transition to Windows 11 because Windows 10 won’t be getting any new features.
Now that Windows 11 has been out for more than a year and a half, it’s not too surprising that the company is starting to wind things down for Windows 10, an operating system that first launched in 2015. The company took a step toward moving on when it stopped selling Windows 10 downloads in January, and now, we know when support for Windows 10 will officially end.
What gets me about high tech outfits is their KISS OF DEATH to old operating system.
Bill Gates buried a time bomb in Windows XP and too may users got booted of in other words — LOCKED OUT. End of support should not be a ticket to force you to discontinue personal usage.

Norton has a nice utility program... cleans up the clutter.
Don’t complain. My laptop takes 20 minutes for the hard drive to stop and the computer to get going smoothly. I love my Chromebook for web surfing. Boots in less than 20 seconds.
BINGO! Now go buy an official Bill Gates Blue Screen Surface!
That is the secret.
Dang, I just bought a Windows 10 HP refurb because TurboTax no longer worked on my Windows 7 desktop. Now, if Family Tree Maker stops working on Windows 10, I am totally FUBAR.
Stack social has Office Pro 2021 for $39 with lifetime code....I can use it on my Mac.
"Windows 12 will likely be released in late 2024. Codenamed "Next Valley," Microsoft has already revealed a prototype desktop redesign. We also expect changes to the lock screen and notification center, as well as AI integration throughout the operating system."

The programming they call "AI" is scary when they insist on integrating it "throughout the operating system".
Linux is the way.
Only reason I still use windows is turbo tax and video games.
Latter is not an issue anymore though. My steam deck plays everything in desktop mode as good or better then my win7 rig.
My son showed me ‘wine’ for linux
It emulates Windows
“Except for that fact that 80% of the PCs running windows 10 CANNOT upgrade to Windows 11.”
My computer is three years old and I can’t.
Your pc probably needs to be reformatted and reloaded.
that’ll create a hardware dilemma for many
Liked Windows 8 better at least it had a chess game now updated to 10 nothing but kid games PU.
Hint: it's not Win10 that's the problem. Are you running it on a 486/66?
No, its a plain old rotating mechanical beastie.
