Little Girl, Parents Shot After Basketball Rolls Into Neighbor’s Yard: Report

A 6-year-old girl and her parents were injured by gunfire on Tuesday night after a basketball rolled down a residential street in North Carolina and into a man’s yard, enraging him, neighbors told WSOC-TV.

Witnesses told the station that the gunman ran up and down the street, firing until he ran out of bullets.

The Gaston County Police Department said Wednesday they were still hunting for the alleged gunman, identified as Robert Louis Singletary, a 24-year-old man described as “armed and dangerous.”

The young girl, Kinsley White, was hospitalized after being seriously wounded. She was released overnight, family members told Queen City News. Her father, William White, remains in the hospital.

“He came out with a gun, he started shooting,” Kinsley explained to the outlet. “Hope my daddy is OK.”

Her mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, was grazed by a bullet and treated at the scene. She told WSOC that she heard the gunman make a threat to her husband and daughter: “I’m going to kill you.”

He then chased them, firing, while William White tried to shield Kinsley, Hilderbrand said.

A fourth person was shot at but not injured, police said.

Singletary faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

In December, he was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend with what police described as a “mini sledgehammer.” He allegedly prevented her from leaving his apartment until she cleaned up the evidence of the assault. The woman was able to escape roughly two hours later.

Neighbors told WSOC that Singletary was new to the area and often got angry with children in the neighborhood.

Citing the ongoing investigation, a spokesperson for the Gaston County Police Department declined to confirm details of the case.

“I want to say to the people of Gaston County—this sort of violence will not stand,” Stephen Zill, the department’s chief, said in a statement posted to social media on Wednesday afternoon.

Police have partnered with the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force to find Singletary, Zill said.

“We don’t even know the man,” Kinsley told WSOC, appearing on camera with stitches in her cheek. “Why did you shoot my daddy and me? Why did you shoot a kid’s dad?”

In may mind’s eye, I saw a raging young white man doing the shooting.

I initially thought it was a Cletus as well. Nope. A person of low impulse control.

I sat on a jury in a case where a felon was charged with possession of a firearm. Long story short, they couldn’t prove he knew the weapon was in the borrowed car. And Kate Brown’s female prosecutors sure tried. The case never had a chance, and never should have been pursued...but...gun!! Dude walked...and a couple of months later, beat a woman to death. Allegedly.

"People are raging here days unlike they used to. Growing up we knew of a couple of hotheads that would erupt over asinine crap, but these days there are far more folks like that...

And all of these occurrences are now being reported to be used to advance the Anti-2A agenda instead of the old "mass shooting" angle. That got dropped mighty quick when a few from their favored pervert group took them by surprise. Watch how many of these out-of-control rage shooting/accidental discharge/mistaken shoot/crazy nutjob individual shooting stories get reported between now and the 2024 election. It will go up at least 300%.

Is this Groundhogs Day ? As we discussed yesterday about the Pleasanton Home Depot shooting.:

We have a one-way race war underway and anglos are the targets.

Announced ? unannounced ? encouraged ? Started with Obie’s Cambridge professor Emboldened by Trayyvon Martin>Ferguson Hands UP>George Floyd>knock-outs, and on and on.

It’s time this be stated, rather than ignored.

Down the memory hole it goes. You know the kind of hatred cause by Biden and the irresponsible media could have created this situation. Was it a tit for tat thing?

Ok, I'll say it.

Red Flag Laws are BS.

This guy should have had his firearms taken away from him when he beat his girlfriend last year. !!!

How right you are! Because he should have been in jail for a felony assault. Problem solved. But he was a black man. Exempt from ordinary law enforcement apparently.

And that one of the problems with "Red Flag" laws. They are enforced selectively. Not enforced against members of the Democrat protected classes. That is non-whites, LGBT, and Muslims. Come to mention it, that is an increasing problem with all of our criminal and civil laws.

A "Red Flag" law would not have prevented this shooting because it was never going to be applied against a minority group person.

Thas's racist, donch'a know.

Red Flag laws also have the problem of assuming "Guilty until Proven Innocent.", allowing perjured complaints from anonymous plaintiffs, and ex-parte proceedings which render a judgement without any prior notification or due process for the defendant.

It is unwise to allow government to operate with such lack of restraints.

I worked for years in a big city ER. We often got patients who were in some kind of psychiatric crisis. We'd page psychiatry to see these patients and quite often they were "pink papered" to the state hospital across the street.

This was possible because of the state's "civil commitment" laws. Those laws allowed cops, physicians and others to transport a person who was suspected of being a treat to himself or others to a health care facility...against his/her will. It also allowed a psych facility to hold such a person against his/her will for,IIRC,72 hours. And if at that time it was *still* believed that a threat existed the psych facility could ask a court to extend the involuntary stay.

All 50 states have such laws. So "red flag" laws are absolutely unnecessary and are,in fact, just another was to deny a person his/her 2nd Amendment rights.

Germany, 1930s: Propaganda painted Jews as evil, and so worthy of attack.
United States, today: Propaganda paints whites as evil, and so worthy of attack.

The only real difference is that the Nazis knew exactly what they were doing.

Another major difference is its whites inviting attacks on whites. White liberal guilt has gone crazy.

Wait. The little girl was seriously injured but sent home that night? Really?

Psychiatric drugs are involved. Guaranteed.

So your theory is that there have always been a consistent number of people getting shot in situations like this, but they’re only being reported now?
